Campaign Scoring Changes - Has it worked?

I saw some players worried that the scoring change in their home server diminished motivation for the campaign in general. Thought it would be interesting to see how other players have viewed the scoring changes.

Incase you don't have any idea what im talking about, standard campaigns count all objectives (Resources, Keeps, Scrolls) for points, while some other campaigns only count resources, scrolls, or keeps.

    Sorry, but it was better with the old rules. Having a scroll being worthless in terms of points, that's... Hurr... It just doesn't make sense.

    Only scrolls giving points? Not very interesting, since it takes sometimes a whole day to get them back, since when you lose your scrolls, you basically have to recap at least half the map to get those back.

    Can't say about "Only resources count".

    Only keeps... Well, refer to my comment about scrolls.

    Nobody plays a campaign because of the scoring rules, they were wrong to introduce that. People want good fights and a sense of accomplishment.

    Add more objectives to the map itself.

    I don't know why people got all excited back in June when they were announced.
    Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    How to win a campaign:

    Step 1: Deliberately lose both of your scrolls to the other factions.
    Step 2: Take back and hold your home keeps
    Step 3: Take a few keeps/ outposts and lots of random resources around the map without provoking the other factions.
    Step 4: Sit back and watch the other 2 factions fight each other everyday over your scrolls which aren't worth any points, and cruise to victory.


    But yeah, scoring didn't really change anything. Scrolls should be worth a couple more points.

    Current scoring is stupid, and changes were stupid.

    They need at least 3-5 TIMES more scoring objectives throughout the map for anybody to really care.

    I haven't noticed a difference. There are plenty of guilds that don't play the map. Till that changes I don't see much that would make any difference.

    Plenty of guilds play the map, just not dedicated to any one campaign.
    Nor do the majority care about alliance scoring.

    I would vote for the gated option but not enough of the factions played on that server (myself included.)

    They do need additional objectives badly.
    In conjunction with IC district objectives, I think Cyro can have life for more than one DLc update.

    Also updated rewards, ways to spend AP, and exp gain.

    Ideally pvp and pve should be in tandem with regards to rewards, exp and enjoyment/difficulty.
    Or you allow pvp to have strong rewards instead of pve for one quarter to promote pvp then vice versa for pve. Might encourage use of the game from 2 different standpoints.

    Only reason we chose a particular campaign is the right amount of engagement. Could not care how scoring is done.

    The problem as far as I can see it is less, 'the rules are different' and more, 'no one in my faction seems to care about winning the campaign.'

    Without rewards that really make a difference, rewards are pointless. A bit extra gold? Who cares.

    Make a campaign who only counts scoring between 5p EST and 12a EST and resets all keeps/scrolls at that time, and then maybe I'd be interested from a "primetime" aspect, but seriously they have never figured out how to properly incentivize pvp.

    Pretty simple, it was the last and more or less only sign of life we had from the PvP team this year at all... We've got to celebrate the little things!

    Three points, 1) people don't really care about winning a campaign, because 2) most of them are dead anyway, and 3) did someone really believe people would run around claim only the stuff that gives points?

    I definitely feel this contributes. The other part is how the fighting usually plays out, NPC's and Siege combat itself are very weak mechanics with the changes the latest update brought.

    Any large scale fighting that does occur suffers from debilitating performance which makes what active combat mechanics the players use far less effective.

    Combine these and a few other factors and it paints a more clear picture as to why there is diminished interest in who wins the campaign. The 'trophy' of winning is only as rewarding as how much fun it was to get there.

    I cared about the campaign score right up until I found out what sets were available to the victors. Now it's back to AP hunting. :3
