CP catch up mechanics

So you once again decided to give in to the crying babys whimps. And there we have it...catch up mechanics because some people can't play as much as they would like and go on whining about it. You realise this is a MMO right? You can play 24/7 and if someone can't then too bad for them. But then again what happens to those who can? Will the enlightenment count towards a full CP lvl after this "silly" (i would use another word but the topic will get banned...) mechanic is implemented? or will we get even more screwed with the enlightenment only counting 400k xp of a CP lvl when we will need 800k for it? Asking cause with zenimax things only seem to get worst with every patch for devoted players cause of all the crying and whining that's been going on around ingame and in the forums this past year. For once...pay some respect to the people who actualy play the game. And fix this "no loot" thing in the middle of the sewers. It's trully annoying.

    So because some unemployed sponging money off governments can sit home all day grinding cp he should have a massive advantage over someone who has to work and provide for their family everyday and play at nights like the majority of the community no thanks. I like pvp and I shouldn't be losing in pvp due to the fact someone has grinded zombies for 100 hours in a pve zone its just stupid.

    Assumptions and insults not needed. Not every one with high CP is a kid or a no-lifer. Maybe some people can organise their lifes better...

    Anyway there has to be an even field in regards of CP, so the cap is ok in my oppinion. The catch-up mechanic could be discussed, but I don´t care if others get CP fast.

    They need the same amount of CP so they can cry again about other classes OP after realising they still get pooped in pvp despite having the same amount of CP...

    I would much rather they just changed the campaigns scoring back to how it once was but placed CP caps on each campaign.

    Black water = no CP
    Axe = 100 CP max
    Chilrend = 250 CP max
    Azura = unlimited
    Trueflame = No CP

    The real issue here is, when the CP system first came out, a lot of your (constantly exploiting) players, and they know who

    they all are, exploited and gain CP at a rate ZOS never expected.

    You now have lots of new players no matter how they grind can't make a dent and feel they are at a big disadvantage, they

    aren't but still think they are.

    Gold buying to try and buy in game things is at its worst. Had a guy try to get me to sell him gold and couldn't understand

    why I wouldn't sell to him.

    I would suggest that any player with over 500 cp atm may have exploited to get that many, but maybe not, who knows ? Well

    ZOS does but won't do a thing to punish them, so this is their way to fix it. LOL LOL>>>>

    I just played the game, leveled many chars. 6x V16, 1x V15, 1x lvl 36. I only grinded to close the gap between VR12 and VR14. 4 chars have undaunted level 9, 2 chars are at level 8 - means I did many many dailys. I also pvp´ed.

    I have a full time job and I am in a relationship. I am not a no-lifer.

    I´m at 560 CP.

    I did not:

    roleplay
    master angler achievement

    So you get an idea now?

    Calling people like me an exploiter just lets you look bad. That said I don´t mind any of the decisions ZOS makes about CP.

    But people think they are something special because they lead a normal life and have to be rewarded therefore are just hilarious.

    no offense or anything but: Stating you both HAD LESS TIME to play the game (Due to real life issues, which I am totally ok with and honestly think that's great) And leveled up MULTIPLE toons in a short amount of time (Showing that you have spent a GREAT DEAL of time in the game OR you have exploited)

    Simple math. you announced that BOTH u had LESS TIME TO PLAY and that YOU PLAYED MORE.

    There are people with over 2000 CP. I'd be willing to bet they either have multiple people playing the one account or they are using bots to grind CP. It's been about 7 months since the champion point system went live. 7 * 30 = 210. 2000 / 210 = 9.5 champion points per day. How a person can have 2000 CP through legitimate play and not have their brains leaking out their ears is too much of a stretch.

    It's not fun as a new player in PvP knowing that you are going to be severely hindered because you don't have as many CP as the guy standing next to you who has a ton. Try to think of it from other peoples shoes. Sure, it sucks for those who put in more hours previously, but do you really want to see the game suffer long term because of people quitting once they realize how *** they are in Cyrodiil compared to people with a zillion CP? Because it's already happening.

    Sure, screw the cap, screw any catch up mechanics. I'm sure this game will have a plentiful population in a couple years and everyone will be the merrier for it.

    This entire issue was caused because ZeniMax didn't initially put any restrictions on the system. I'm sure they always intended to, and I guess they wanted to see how it played out first, but it was left unchecked for too long. Now no matter what they do to try and correct it, they are going to *** someone off. One this is for sure though, It needs serious addressing ASAP.

    Be nice to my friends. I have no CP on the account I play. What is the big deal about CP?

    Here let me help u see reason. Go to a CP calculator found on these forums. Easy enough to find. Compare a toon with 0 CP with one at 150, 350 and 500. Also here's a little food for thought: lets take a look at one of the most whined about skills in the game that some people use.

    Meet our dear friend the WB spammer.
    He dosent have much skill. He didnt put much thought into his build. He just mashes his face on WB all day long. He still gets away with killing people. Why u ask? An average v16 player has ard 3k weapon damage with ard 50% crit. That means WB tool tip damage will likely read at around 9k. 9k damage MEH u say? Lets put some pts into mighty and get 25% bonus damage to physical attacks shall we? Now our dear friend the WB spammer hits for 11.25k. Next lets throw some pts into armor pen shall we? Now our dear friend the WB spammer will likely hit for ard 13k (on non crits). How about lets throw some pts into Precise strikes. Now our dear friend the WB spammer crits for aprox ( 13k * (1.5+ crit damage bonus/100)) so thats around 22.5k assuming he has 25% bonus crit hit damage. Did our friend the WB spammer get any better at the game? No. He just mashes face on WB all day long since day 1 to day 365, morning to night. He still kills people cos he hits for 22.5k per WB. (worse if he hits from stealth).

    See the problem with CP now? The truth is WB isnt OP. Its CP. No skill is really OP in this game. Perma block, perma dodge roll blah blah QQ whine whine x 1000 are all only possible cos of tons of CP. Fix CP. Fix ESO.

    Oh so our friend, WB spammer, will kill a group of skilled v16's in PvP? I didn't know that. Also, I have never seen our WB spammer friend take a keep all by his self.

    I play PvP and do ok without CP. If i come across a very strong player, I run to the keep guards and wave at him until my friends show up to take care of the problem.

    A cap has been needed since the day the Champion System was implemented. You can't have an unlimited progression system based on time played and expect it to not destroy your game. There always has to be a way to make up the difference for someone who arrives later. This isn't even just an issue between people who don't have much time to play and people who play constantly, it's also really an issue between people who play constantly and new players who also play constantly. Those new players who are themselves hardcore can still literally never catch up to be competitive when you have an unlimited progression system. This creates a gigantic wall that dissuades new players, whether casual or hardcore, from playing.

    Having a rather long progression system is, of course, important though, and 500 CP sounds pretty damn long to me. Just like 50 PVP ranks is a pretty damn long progression. In that sense, there's still an advantage for people who started earlier, but the advantage at least has some real limitation. It's basically an attempt at creating the feel of infinite progression without forcing new players to give up.

    Why does CP have to be unlimited anyway? If you're that hardcore and awesome, why do you need the advantages that unlimited CP gives you?

    70 CP upon 1.6 release.

    230 Days since March 3rd =230 Points of Enlightenment at 300K Experience each = 69,000,000 Experience.

    297- 70 = 227 * 400,000 = 90,800,000 Experience needed.

    90,800,000 - 69,000,000 = 21,800,000 Actual experience needed.

    21,800,000 / 230 = 94,782 Experience needed per day.

    94,782 / 8 = 11,847 Experience earned per hour on average.

    Either your time "playing" is spend RPing in the local tavern or I'm going to go ahead and call BS on your claims.

    I have played it on console sincd release and i have 259 and work 2 jobs with a gf you are doing it wrong my friend. Sorry but its true. Thats way to much time

    I used to be hardcore. Now I have a job + wife and that makes me casual lol. And I do sympathise with the feeling of a lot of the hardcore players but tbh, like many have pointed out, the $$ comes mostly from the casual base.

    Do I like the cp cap? Yes
    Do I like the damage nerfs to pvp? Yes
    Do I expect to clear content with a reasonable amount of effort? Yes

    You don't like my carebear attitude? Too bad. It's people like me that pay the bills for this game. When u live under our roof you play by our rules. Deal with it. Ofc u can come here and QQ all day long but i guarantee the CP cap is here to stay =D

    [ stabs you with my sword ]

    Oh come on. Do I need to spell it out for you... In our scenario we assume our dear friend the wb spammer has 0 skill and all he does is spam wb. He also runs solo. Imagine our dear friend the wb spammer has some skill and does more than just spam wb. Let's also entertain the scenario where he is running in a group of competent players with enough cp. Imagine they run up against a group of similar skilled players with a key difference. ( one group has 500 cp one has 100). Who do you think is going to win?

    Taking my own toon for example I have gained 12% crit, 20% Phy damage, 20% armor pen, 20% crit damage etc. honestly I'm going to steam roll someone who is about the same skill level as me. I don't think this is fair to new players. New players can be skilled but are going to get a vicious smack down by average players who have 500 cp. If you still don't see my point of view I have nothing more to say.

    Also when u run to your keep and wave at him until your friends come, do understand our dear friend the wb spammer also has his friends coming. In eventuality, assuming everyone's skill level in the conflict averages out, the team with more CP will win.
