Off topic is fun

On topic - should there be a off topic?

Not going to happen, the on-topic forums are toxic enough. Off-topic forums require far more moderation and there's no reason for developers to provide them on official forums. Reddit's the place for that, I imagine. ZOS have rejected the idea previously.

I disagree with all of the reasoning there. I can see it, but it only has to be that way if you want it to be that way

Actually you have no full control on what the rest of forum posters will say even if we have an off topic forum. This is a forum about elder scrolls online; if I want to talk about politics, religion or newsworthy events, I'd go somewhere else.

It's not a bad idea. I've used other MMO forums where they had a "General" section called The Inn for off topic stuff, and it got used pretty well (considering most of the community were trolls).
It was a good way to meet the people you play with and against, and just have some general banter. It was probably a nicer area because they weren't full of opinions and disagreements, just a few people having a laugh and sharing stories.
I don't see any harm trying it out, and if it becomes too much moderation for them to handle to pull it down and call it unsuccessful.

Imagine they could get it all. Why limit yourself?

I would be for this. My only caveat is that they make it so that any post there does not count toward your overall post count. I know on some other MMO off-topic forums you have certain people spam post to pad their numbers and rep.

I like a bit of everything man. Anything from Disturbed to Il Divo. You?

Totally agree with @Cadbury, that your post count is not used in the off-topic section. It should be limited to the game related stuff.

I like all music as well. It's always fun for eso players to connect with similar interests as well. Who knows.. Might make friends.. Play together..

Just messing. An off topic area would be cool but It would require too much moderation to keep it up to ZOS standards. I doubt it would work out.

That's a grim view, but optimism can prevail
