Sorcerer bow and staff, in light armor.

Just returned after months. I used to play this build with magicka attributes and armor. The magicka boosted surge damage enough for my bow (snipe, poison arrow), and I had enough of a pool to spam webs for a decent amount of damage. When switched to staff, I was an ordinary sorc.

I want to set my talents/attributes right the first time and hear it's all about stamina now.. I see surge is no longer affected by magicka and is a set percentage, making magicka a waste for my 2 bow skills.

Am I understanding this correctly? Is there any way to play bow sorc in light armor so I can still offhand my destruction staff? I'm not competitive, but I still like min/maxing what I have to work with.

Magica does not work with the bow.

Staves give you spell damage- that's how hard your spells hit

Weapons give you weapon give you weapon damage- that's how hard your stamina abilities hit

2 are completely unrelated and will not work if you would like to min max

Wrong. Both add weapon-weapon damage, this damage is directly added to your base damage.
In fact, dual wield and 2 handed swords are best for magic, staves and bows the worst for magic damage.

With that being said, bow works just as good/bad as staves.

Bah, okay. Though I just switched out some magicka/stamina and my spell/weapon damage didn't change.
