Big Simple Solution For PvP

When a player uses the same ability continuously, like Concealed Weapon, Puncturing Sweep/Jab, Wrecking Blow, Dark Flare, Snipe/Focused Aim, Lethal Arrow etc etc the damage of the ability gets reduced after the 3rd time of its use by 20%, then 40%, then 60% etc for a total of 6 seconds or so, to cut down on all the senseless spam of the same ability.

There's currently no penalty for players using the same abilities over and over again and this MIGHT just make players actually USE their brain when in a PvP situation.

    There are not enough (useful) abilities to allow for proper rotations. Sounds good in theory. Completely impractical when you think about it for a few moments.

    Use cloak repeatedly to never be hittable? No problem
    Use wrecking blow repeatedly to cc and do huge damage? No problem
    Use streak to get away from a gank? Nope! Nerfed
    Use shields because you have no self heals? Nope! Nerfed!

    Yeah, I only thought about it from a Templar's perspective though so it probably won't work for other classes, I dunno..

    Shields got a 5% nerf compared to dmg, don't worry, you can still spec for dmg on a magic sorc and tank every other magicka class.

    The easy way around it would just be to spam 2 abilities. So instead of seeing Wrecking Blow/Wrecking Blow/Wrecking Blow you'd see Wrecking Blow/Carve/Wrecking Blow

    And that would make things slightly better, because the player would have to use their brain to process "WB, Cleave, WB, Cleave" to avoid the damage reduction stack.

    However, lets try and stay away from the "nerf to improve" perspective. Instead of nerfing multiple uses of an ability, we could have a system that gives incentive to combine other skills. In short, when you use an ability and follow it up with a different ability, a skill combo is created and will have varying effects depending on what abilities are used together. Bonus effects such as increased damage, status effects etc. the list could go on for days.

    This could be a possible solution to this issue.

    I've JUST been killed while typing this by Focused Aim 5 *** times, see what I mean? too many scrubs who haven't got a clue how to use more than ability.

    yeah and then in Cyro if you as a stam sorc use WB 5 times you will have a complete damage reduction of 100%

    That's a custom build though, if a build revolves around using 1 ability over and over again, that's not even worthy of being called a build, in fact it should be called '1 button win lol'

    I agree in theory but some classes or healers don't have many direct attack abilities. I would like to see something done but unless they address balance on some skill paths I don't think it will happen

    I'm a Breath of Life spammer simply because I have absolutely no other defensive abilities left.
    • Radiant Ward/Blazing Shield got heavily nerfed.
    • Mist Form is insanely bugged/nerfed.
    • Healing Ward sucks even though it's a resto staff ability.
    • Channeled Focus gives a little defensive buff to your armor and spell resist, but it's mostly useless since you're always marked by Nightblades anyway.
    • OIther Templar Heals aren't useful for PvP, especially solo.
    • We have no mobility.

    Light/Heavy attacks don't count. If you Wrecking Blow a target 3 times and then do a light attack, heavy attack for 3 seconds then Wrecking Blow again before the 6 second cool down (damage reduction stack) is over, Wrecking Blow's damage will be reduced by 20%, then 40% if they use it again and so on.

    Same for all abilities.

    No offence but the players who won't like this idea implemented (In PvP only) are the exact players who spam the same abilities, so they'll actually have to use their brains in PvP *Gasps*! :lol:

    Just make bash interrupt AoE and channeling abilities. Rather stupid that you can bash interrupt PvE mobs but not players.

    That way you can throat punch the idiot NB spamming sap.

    What's wrong with Spamming an ability? It's not like you're complaining when your healers are spamming BoL......just let people play the way they want to play without screaming NERF everytime someone beats you...

    So you're whining that you can't beat someone who only uses one ability? This reminds me of bowlers in cricket who slag off a batsman as 'just a slogger' because he's hitting you out of the ground using brute force rather than 'technique'. Yeah, but bottom line is you're still getting hit out of the ground. (if you're confused, replace 'cricket' with 'baseball')

    If you're dying to a 'a scrub who hasn't got a clue how to use more than 1 ability' what does that say about your skill? Maybe pause for 2 seconds and think of a way you could maybe counter that one skill (hint* dodge roll, gap closers, reflect, shields, CC).

    Oh and for the record I'm a PvEr mainly, but when I occasionally PvP it's on a healer so no WB spam here... ;)

    Class:
    NB needs a good heal ability.
    Templars needs Mobility ability.
    Sorc needs nothing.( they can turn in to super saiyans with there lighting form+daedraic armor+bolt(like instance transmission)
    Dk ........?

    Weapons:
    DW needs a proper heal ability(like rally) or a proper buff i.e. % increase in attack on steel tornado or quick cloak.
    Bow also needs the same thing like the DW(above).

    PvP:
    Zos, don't make any changes. The changes you have done is satisfactory but I am still displeased about the CP cap in thecnext patch and dodge rolling(which is not natural in any game that I have heard off).

    PvE:
    Please, make the veteran ranks a little easier or make an npc follower (since most of us are solo players, after all this is a TES game ).

    Or.... If you want a class heal, roll a Temp. If you want cloak and teleport, roll a NB. If you want to be able to reflect spells, roll a DK. If you want to be able to bolt escape, roll a sorc. Why do people constantly moan about not having access to another class' skills and mechanics? Do we really want there to be 1 set of armour, 1 weapon choice and 10 skills in the game so no one has something you don't and everything is 'fair'? It will then come down to' I only died because he has a better mouse/monitor/chair than me'...

    Stam sorc needs a viable damage ability. If they had one, instead of spamming WB or steel tornado, they could work it into their routine so you're not getting smashed with the same ability over and over. Could mean less super saiyan as well.

    DK needs stam whip, some mobility, gap closer, an execute, just to name a few.
