Can we please have the ability to use bait from the bank?

mabiron92

I feel we should be able to use bait from the bank as we can with other materials we have. Just becomes a hassle to get 10 different types of bait when you go fishing. It would be more convenient to be able to do it on the spot without worrying if you have the bait on you.

You only need 4 types of bait. But unlike materials bait is a consumable, if they let us do this with bait they would have to do it with potions, foods, siege, repair kits, soul gems, wall/door repair, recipes, etc.

Best advice I can give you is to upgrade your inventory space pronto, both bag-merchants and Mount carrying capacity upgrades at the stables. In my opinon that's the only thing really worth shelling out on while leveling.

I'm permanently running around with well over 10 stacks of bait, can't risk running dry, but it's no issue because I have 196 inventory slots.

    I 100% completely disagree.

Now, a tackle box that takes up ONE space. I can get behind that idea.

terrible advice about the mount training.

Speed to 40 first, then Stamina to 40, then cap speed first then stamina, then once they are done, do the bag upgrades last....

but the bag upgrades from the merchant, is good advice, buy all of the personal bag space up first, then work on your bank.

but as far as the OP is concerned, that would make no sense in being able to use bait from your bank.

This is slightly off track but, I think it depends on whether or not you do pvp. The mount speed and stamina increase would be more valuable to you in pvp where you need to get places quickly. The inventory slots would be more useful in pve.

Well that might be the case for you. In my opinion mount stamina and speed are only really useful in PvP. So I'm upgrading carrying capacity all the way to 60 first, those inventory slots are infinitely more valuable to me than running around faster.

wandering merchants and wayshrines everywhere to get you back to town for a loot dump.

Completely different play-style "bro". I'm walking most of the time anyway because you can't collect resources from guar-back. And if I really need to go fast there's always rapid maneuvers.

Don't assume everyone plays as you play @i3ig_Gun. I use my mount pretty infrequently. There aren't huge empty expanses of land to traverse like in Shadow of the Colossus (oh how I wish there were). I find that whenever I hop on my mount I end up going a very short distance before I hop back off to kill a creature, open a chest, talk to an NPC, pick some flowers, explore a dungeon. For players like me the inventory upgrade is top priority.

To be honest, it doesn't make any sense that we can currently use items from our bank, while not being at the bank. It's convenient sure, but makes no sense.

In fact, I was so clueless to this system that for a long time I always took things out of the bank that I wanted to use (crafting mats, rune stones etc.), since that's how it worked for me in other MMOs. I only realised this bank nonsense because of this one time; I forgot to take something out of the bank, and saw I was still able to craft whatever it was I was making at the time. I was surprised by this and I thought it was a bug lol.

Not everyone wants to quest fast. For me, the game is about the journey rather than the destination.

I'm far too busy harvesting every node I pass to be bothered with getting on and off a mount all the time. I have zero interest in PvP and therefore stamina on my mount, and as I rarely ride it bag upgrades are far more important to me than speed. So for me it's bag space first, speed second, and no need for stamina.

Back on topic, I'd welcome a tackle box in personal inventory, but I'd hate even more bank consolidation than exists already.

I found this out accidentally too. Unless they were going to double bag space it would be impossible to carry all that crafting material, and your items. I have about 240 spaces, bank and bag together, and I still struggle sometimes.
Another way would be to somehow make crafting simpler so you need less materials, but I doubt that's going to happen at this stage in the game.

The problem with mounts is that the minute you get on your horse you see a node that needs to be harvested, so you get off again. I find I move around faster without the horse, unless I'm doing crafting in a non-crafting friendly town.

I've always done Inventory --> Speed --> Stamina on my horses. I think I started with speed on one once, but changed my mind really quickly.

It really is a matter of personal preference (though speed and stamina are definitely important if you PvP)

As for fishing with bait from the bank, I don't think so. I run around with all my bait. It's not a problem.

It's kind of a vicious circle the way you're doing it. If you neglect the speed upgrades on a horse, getting on and off might end up costing you time compared to just moving on foot. But, when you upgrade your speed fully, you certainly are faster mounting up between nodes, even if it's just a 5 second ride, and especially if you use rapid maneuvers.

There's also the option to skip past enemies with a stam/speed horse. I had forgetting how easily you get dismounted until the other day when I was playing with a friend who did the same as you guys and upgraded bag space. Any time he would even catch a fireball he was thrown to the ground and stunned, then locked in combat until the enemies were dead. I on the other hand can stroll past any NPCs, taking crazy amounts of hits, then shrugging it off like it didn't happen. It's to the point where I will die on my horse before I get dismounted. Obviously this is a huge advantage in PVP, but there are many times where I make use of it in PVE. Bag full? Why waste time killing things on the way back to town, just run past. Quest boring because you've done it on 3 other characters? Just run past everything and get to the end quickly. Competition for nodes in a PVE zone? Use your speed to gain an advantage.

You can work around not having your storage upgraded, but speed and stamina on your mount are actual upgrades to your mounts ability that can't be replaced or worked around. You can either take hits on it, or you can eat dirt and possibly die anytime you get hit.

I like fishing and harvesting nodes because it's relaxed, easy-going gameplay. If I want to shave off a few seconds I'll go play project cars.

I also just fast-travel back to town.
