Let me start off by saying I have 3 V16 characters, and I am so overly fed up with this game. I'll make this short and sweet.
Let's talk about the patch. I actually have grown to accommodate the damage reduction. Though I think 50% is still too much, it does help provide more balance. However, damage reduction + battle level has resulted in an environment that gives an enormous advantage to low vet levels. Now before you hit me with the, "stop whining and get better" banter, please understand that I'm one of the top duelers on PS4, and this is an opinion shared by many of us.
Can you tell me one other game that is set up like this? ONE. Lower levels are 10x harder to kill, even if they aren't healers? I can tell you when I was a vet 5 getting completely stomped on in Cyrodiil, my reaction wasn't to go complain to the forums. My reaction was to level my character, as I knew I couldn't compete at such a disadvantage. It's like anything in life. Your success should reflect your knowledge/work ethic/competence, not whining when something doesn't go your way.
I typically play solo on my night blade, and can tell you I 100% target V16's over anyone else, because I know they are more vulnerable with no battle level. How can I 3 shot a V16, yet take 30 seconds + to kill a V5 night blade, simply because of their health? "Congratulations, you've reached V16, you are now the most vulnerable player in Cyrodiil."
As a v16 NB with 250 CP and end game gear, I SHOULD be destroying lower vet levels. However, you have created an environment that instils false hope. Their play style will suffer to no end when they reach end game, and have 10k less health in cyrodiil. Man, this game has become such a joke.
Not to mention the bugs... oh man. Half the time I'm in combat I can't use ANY of my abilities, glitch dodge rolling all over the place, can almost never mount, long load screens, can't open doors, the INSANE lag in big PVP servers.. its caused myself, and several other excellent eso players to drop the game.
I get it, I get the business approach. You're trying to motivate "younger players" to feel the PVP experience without getting two shotted, since they represent a large portion of your new revenue as a business. However, putting as big of a blanket over these "new players" as you have has only frustrated the hell out of players who have already bought the costumes, mounts, DLC, etc.
As a business, you should focus on satisfying existing customers generating bulk revenue more than potential revenue coming from new players. For the first time ever, I feel punished to have reached top level.
I guess the morale of the story here, and the main point is to highlight how broken the battle level concept is (for so many reasons). Am I missing something? Can someone explain this to me? I'm happy to debate this all day, because this isn't an opinion I just worked up, it's been discussed for weeks amongst different PS4 parties. How is this not being addressed?
End rant.
