I liked the dungeons and trials, pvp was terribad, people trying to balance classes around small scale pvp in a game designed for large scale pvp never turns out good - ever. But whatever, I am a pve player mainly anyways. I'll stick to that.
Then comes IC. I know it's a horrible model and idea, but against my better judgement I purchase the dlc to give it a fair shot.
I logged in, did my respec and queued for both the new dungeons and for a pvp campaign. 3 hours later I still hadn't gotten into either.
I paid for a game i couldn't play. New content gated behind pvp in zones that are population capped. A group finder that was completely broken and my alt was stuck in Rivenspire and couldn't get out.
But Orsinium was coming out soon, I would be able to PvE with other people and hve a good time again. I stayed optimistic about it.
Then comes the patch notes. Absolutely zero group content in an MMORPG. Not even scaling trials up.
Why should I buy dlc catering to solo content when I can go play a much better solo rpg?
Maybe I'm missing something here but this makes absolutely no sense.

I'm trying hard to talk myself into getting it, but paying 30 bucks for what should be a free novelty minor content update is the biggest hurdle.
Add to that the fact that I literally couldn't play the last dlc I purchased makes it even harder to Justify.

Sounds like a personal problem then. Why can't you just accept any and all content and enjoy it with your friends, no matter what said content is? I know I can.

You DO realize that the majority of players playing this game are solo players, right? And enough with that MMO b.s., as most newer MMOs today are no longer solely focused on 'group content' because they have learned that single-player gamers want online gaming as well. Further, most of those playing ESO are single-player Skyrim/ES players who came to ESO for lack of another ES title- and Bethesda is nice in pushing even more into ESO by stating the ES6 has been put on hold indefinitely. So if people want their ES fix, they have to come to ESO.
Just because you want more group content doesn't mean the majority of players do. ZOS knows by datamining how many players play what content, whether they group or not, etc. While they may throw a bone here and there to those who prefer grouping or PvP, I'd expect that the majority of future DLCs would be much more about solo or at least soloable content.
