Class Respecification Token

While I agree with the current status that there is no "race re-specification" because in reality you can't change your race (although this isn't a game based on reality), I definitely think there should be a token in the crown store to allow you to change your class. There is no reason why someone should not be able to go from being a templar to being a nightblade- especially with the length of time it takes to level a character up. I know that this would create an issue where people would be consistently jumping to the OP class. I just think it would give players an opportunity to run different classes without having to level up an entire new character.

Agreed. Would pay 5000+ crowns for it

That would make any character you do that to a completely different character, so why not just start a completely new character.

I'll take race changes, class changes, name changes, character slots, gender change, more inventory space, more bank space. Attach a cooldown to some of these so you can't swap constantly for game balance reasons.

There you go ZoS. Your surefire moneymaking plan for this quarter. Make it happen.

I disagree completely. I think there should be a race change (and it is coming), but there should not be a class change.

Race is something arbitrary in a game more for appearance than anything. Racials don't mean much except for min-maxing and hardcore players.

Class is something you have to level with, becoming familiar with and using specific class skills to advance your character. Some classes are far easier to level quickly with then others, an example being templars. Who's to say that people won't speed-level with templars and then switch to something harder to level with once at v16, such as a nightblade? (And can I just say that pugging dungeons with people who have class-swapped at v16, and therefore have no idea how to play the class, would be a nightmare).

I don't think it's fair and therefore I don't think it makes any sense to do a class change. I've never seen one in another game and hope not to see something like that in this game.

A class switch would only be acceptable if you went back to lvl 1, all skills too, and lose all of your achievements for that character. But you get to keep your name.

All the lazy gamers want this. Just start an alt. Why did you put so much time in a character if you just want to change it. Aww but the updates he's not the best anymore. The game is not about being the best. If you made a stupid choice, and don't like your character its easy to start an alt. Switching from a DK to a NB(or any other switch), it's just unfare you've played that character a certain way for so long, and than completely change it up so you can use a few different spells and passives?
It doesn't make since beside your to lazy to put time in another character.

First of all, my individual purpose has nothing to do with "speed-leveling" a toon to VR-16. If anything, I am the exact opposite of a speed leveler. I enjoy the ride.

Secondly, regarding the fact that you've never seen a class change in a game before. DC Universe Online has that ability. You can change from a class/"power" that is DPS/Heal to a class/"power" that is DPS/Tank as long as you are willing to pay the $10 for a power re-spec token. Their problem was that some powers were really weak while others were really strong, so they created an environment where everyone would switch to the same 1-2 powers because they were OP. So, they'd nerf those powers and in the process would make something else OP.... rinse and repeat.

I believe that for the most part, the classes in ESO are even, with each having strengths and weaknesses. As long as ESO creates a level playing field across all classes, why not let their players change class to keep the game from getting monotonous.

I'm not lazy, but I am a completionist. I go after all achievements, and fully complete a zone before moving on to the next. To suggest I create an alt and do that all over again is out of the question because I am a working professional who has a life outside of ESO.

If I was an unemployed adult living at my parents- then that is probably what I would do. Why would it be "unfair" for me to switch classes for my own personal enjoyment? How does me switching classes affect you in any way?

@PSUgrad you must be proud "Grad". But are you not gonna be playing this game for years most likely? Why not? You don't think I, or others don't have a life or work full time? Like they have a several year plan for this game. And you are only gonna spend time on one play style? You missing like more than half the game sticking with one character.

(Added) a real completionist would have at least a second and go through making the opposite decisions.

I agree, I'd pay for this. I've spent months gearing up my character, researching traits, exploring the world, getting achievements. I want to try another class but I dont want to go through all of that again. Some people like playing alts, others like having only one character.

Put it in the store along with name change, race change, appearance change etc and ZOS can earn more money for further development.
Those that are against it, it doesnt affect you in any way if I change my class. It's my money and my time.

I agree as well - I really want this. I mean, sure, you can just start another character, but there's a big reason I don't want to do that: It's boring.

Seriously, I play for the quests and the story; sometimes, I wish I could try out new skills and abilities without having to grind back through all the content. I love my Sorc, but test driving a Templar shouldn't mean slogging through the areas and objectives all over again.

I agree that the game isn't about being the best. It's about having fun, and if "lightning, lightning, fire splash" is getting a bit stale, we should be given the opportunity to pick something new. To make sure people don't keep switching back and forth at random, they could just implement a really long cooldown on the item; 30-60 days would do the trick IMO.

i love the idea and i hope it is implimented. i for sure would purchase it and use for one of my v14 characters.

There should be a class change scroll. Not everyone has time to raise a bunch of characters. When I play I play with purpose because I don't have all day. It would be nice to try out a different class and if you don't like it pick something else. I have 1 character and I put in way too much time on him to bring another up. Even if I did it would be a pvp only character because I'm not finding all of these shards, all the lorebooks, world bosses, dolmens, delves, and other stuff on another dude.
