Ok, so I'm leveling 4 characters and have came across a situation with one of them that will affect the other three.

I have been playing since day one of the PS4 release and on that day I subscribed to ESO Plus.

I'm leveling my Templar and in each zone for all of them I don't move on into the next area until I get the quest achievement. Between that, the story lines for the main, factions, guilds, and turning my POI's from black to white it has worked our really well until now.

My Templar is in Greenshade and I started there at level 29. All 4 characters have been going into their next areas at 9, 19, & 29.
Completing the prison & starter island at level 9.
Completing Auridon at level 19.
Completing Grahtwood at level 29.

So I'm doing my usual questing.
I get to level 35. Cool. Start using new food buff.
Level 36, let's craft our new gear with the new material.

Ummmmm, why isn't loot dropping?

That was the red flag. There was no loot dropping.

So I was just 37 out of 40 quests for the Greenshade Adventurer achievement. I knocked them out. I looked at my map and there are still 4 POI's that are black, and remember, I'm not getting loot from even trying multiple times and bring killed by the skull & crossbones area bosses because I'm in cloth. I still tried and finally got them down. I enjoyed the challenge but there was no loot.

So now what?

As best as I can figure it, I'm going to just be able to do my new area, Malabal Tor, faction storyline quest, main storyline quest, and the guild quests, and then skip the rest, and go to Reapers March.

I'm going to have to miss the great quests that I have been thoroughly enjoying. And the scenary. And collecting materials. And all the fun stuff.

Now I know I don't "have to", but if I don't this doesn't fix itself during Malabal Tor, Reapers March, Cold Harbor, and what follows.

I open for suggestions, but to save time don't say to give up my ESO Plus sub. I just cannot see myself doing that.

My request to ZOS. Please do not make leveling any easier. I highly doubt I'm the only one in this situation.

Thank you all.

I know what you mean yeah.

How about if they just made all quests scale to your characters level? I think that would solve it all, personally.

I disagree we need for 5000 crowns the ability to insta level to vet 16 and get gifted a set of armor that is of green quality but no traits on it and not a set item just plain gear for leveling and going through all the quests and ofc it will grant you the cps you would gain from vet1-16 as well would be nice

That's a typically generalized solution these days. I don't know whether it's just the younger generation are more lazy, or gamers are getting more lazy in general.

Ya'll might as well go and play Candy Crush or whatever games offer instant levels for money....

While I see your concerns, everyone doesn't prefer to progress as you may.
You're not the only one however, I'd suggest there are far many who disagree.

There is reason to complete all zones but there is logic in having increased exp so that someone doesn't have to complete all zones. The level 3 - 45 exp is fine as is....I wish the VR1-VR10 exp was more or less similar. Its a lot better with the recent exp reduction but in general I don't think your reasoning provides logic that is best for most players.

candy crush isn't fun eso would be more fun b2w because then everyone from casuals to hardcore will be even gear and cp wise and it would fall down to only skill nothing more. then there would be less complaints minus those not willing to spend the money to get better.

I'd dislike this. At the moment I try to stay 5-10 lvl below my enemies while questing to keep it challenging.

Why cant you just run through the quests anyway? You can still get a lot of loot rummaging through containters/backpacks/various furniture and such. You can still enjoy the quests too. First time through playing all the quests was more interesting then random loot gotten.

Anyways, I cant imagine how your over leveling so much your not getting loot.

I have leveled my share of alts and done all the content. Yes I had some points where I was 3-4 levels over. Maybe in my zone before coldharbor I was over leveld but things catch back up to pretty fast there. Generally I was always early in V1 upon Coldharbor completion.

I guess you could skip the rest of the fighters/mage/main quest till you mostly finish cold harbor. Some of the rewards anyways are pretty nice and could be more useful at V1 then in your late 40's.

Honestly, this makes no sense to me for an MMO. Maybe for a solo game. But this is like those crazy stupid schools the give every student a C or an A because competition inhibits the learning process? So I get the same grade as the dolt that doesn't want to work??

No it would not. You still get XP and rewards for the quests if you're over leveled. It's the mobs that you don't get any XP or loot dropped from. Scaling all the mobs in the game to each player in a shared instance would be a much larger endeavor and not very practical if it's even possible. And it would certainly cause more problems than it would solve because not everyone would want everything scaled to their level all the time.

I think it's fine the way it is. People have a choice when they out level an area to complete it for quest XP and not mob XP, or move on to the next level. If anything an XP pausing mechanism would be a better possible solution for individuals who don't want to gain XP during certain times.

this isn't school you aren't graded this isn't work either it is a video game made for entertainment and entertainment only. not for oh I have to be the best or get the best stuff and work hard for it. entertainment isn't gaining max levels to have bragging rights or to crush weaker ppl in pvp. if you want to show off your skill as a player let everyone be same level due to a 1 time purchase of a vet 16 char and then everyone will see who stands where based on skill and everyone can have fun instead of having to put in way too much effort to play a game that isn't worth putting in the effort for. in the end of the day is working in the game coming home from work to just go back to work in game actually fun? no it is not but achieving max level you no longer have to worry about that and can focus time and effort into questing doing dungeons pvp without the thought in your mind of this is fun but to be better I got to grind then stopping the fun of the game to go back and grind and back to the not fun part of the game. idk about everyone else but I play a game for fun not to grind out levels and sit there in the same spot like a zombie for hrs on end. I actually enjoy exploring doing some quests and dungeons even pvp but in order to be useful you have to grind to reach max level

I would like to add that I made a mistake in my leveling calculations.

I never took Cold Harbor into account as part of my 1 - 50 leveling.

Once I added that in last night, everything became clearer as to how far I over did it.

I suffer from the same problems as the OP, and had to cancel my ESO Plus as there was no way of disabling the bonus XP. Even if I wanted to (I don't as I don't PvP), I can't do IC until my characters are in the VR levels or they'll be even more over-leveled on returning to the base game, and that will really be an issue with Orsinium which I'll have to hold back on for now.

The answer is to provide some form of xp slider so that the player can slow down the xp or even disable it if he wants to. That system works incredibly well in EQ2. There also needs to be an ability to disable the bonus xp under ESO Plus. I want it for crafting, but not for adventuring. People can then choose the rate at which they want to advance and set the slider accordingly.

    Please give us options!

    This sounds awful.

Also, @CrowsDescend please don't suggest that, some of us hate questing and play PvP to out level quests so we can go back later and speed through them.

Alright chill, it was just a random, instant thought at the time of typing my post... Now that I think about it, quest scaling wouldn't work and it would be bad, for reasons you've mentioned.

Might be the extra XP from fighters and mages guilds gave you a lot of XP. Also on PC there used to be a bug where you didn't get dolmen completion XP but that was fixed so you do now - not sure if that was a console issue. Could be a combination of a number of factors.

I didn't do the guild quests as I was leveling through the main story zones on my latest character and found that helped with not out leveling the zones I was in as much as it did on the character before. You might try waiting til vet levels to do those on your other characters.

So do I understand correctly that none of your characters are into Vet Ranks yet?

I understand your concerns, but you haven't even cracked the nut yet. Vet Ranks level MUCH slower than 1-50.

You will understand once you get there. As someone that is leveling his fourth character to V16, I am incredibly grateful ZOS has lowered the XP requirements.

So if you want them to slow down the levels from 1-50, that is an entirely different story. But even then, you still run into the situation where not everyone is a completionist like you are and they don't want to do every single quest.

Those not willing to spend the money to get better would be the vast majority. This would be totally unacceptable for me when I already spent $60 on the disc. If it was free then that would be one things.....but it wasn't. I would probably quit the game.
