Console - Please move Action Bar / Attribute Bar location

@ZOS Two requests:

1) Can you move the bars down on console? They cover your character depending on zoom when in combat. Pin them to the bottom of the screen like PC.
2) Can we NOT have the attribute bars up all the time when we have buffs on? Even when not on combat, the attribute bars stay up covering your character.

So if you can just move the bars down, it would help solve #2.

    I have to second this.

If we are going to have to settle for the bare-bones vanilla UI on console, at least have the courtesy to put it on the edge of the screen.

You can turn off the Attribute bars completely? You sure that's not just the Action slots?

Even then...how would you know what your health is at?

    Very true! :)

Ok, back on topic. Why was the decision made to put these action bars 2 inches up from the bottom? What usability study said that was the way to go?

Any response for this? When you are drink or food buffed, those attribute bars cover your character. Immersion gone,

The location of theses bars also directly conflicts with the Xbox Message pop-up location and the Twtich 'broadcasting' pop-up location. Both of these prompts cover the attribute and action bar UI.

Please move the attribute bars and action bar down to the bottom of the screen for console. Thanks.

There is an option to turn the skill bar off entirely or set it so it only appears when needed aka automatic setting. Explore your Options Menus because a lot of new ones were added with IC patch.

Not for the attribute bars. They stay on all the time. That option you are talking about is for the skill bar.

Magicka, Health, and Stamina bars are there all the time when you have a food or drink buff on.

Updated console screenshot. The attribute bars are on all the time when you eat food or drink and are 2 inches off the bottom of the screen. I would prefer they were moved down and pinned to the bottom. Or turn it off out of combat....but still lower it.

Thank you @ZOS !! The latest incremental console patch fixed the attribute bars. They now only show when being drained, and not at all when not in combat. Perfect!

Did they move them away from the center of the screen though? The console UI looks incredibly amateurish compared to the PC version.

No they didn't, however....they at least disappear while in combat if you are full in any attribute and obviously go away when out of combat. I can live with that.

Well the skill bar is under the attribute bars so maybe its not possible to lower them anymore than what it is or it would interfear with the skill bars. However option to remove them if one wants to would not be a big problem if they decide to make it.

    I have to disagree.

Adding the option to turn them off is fine. But as a person who uses purple foods constantly, and enjoy having both the action and health bars visible at all time, it sucks. I am totally used to a certain way for 500+ hours, and now they disappear. When they disappeared before it was my cue to refill my consumable. Now it's always off, it takes being hit to know its disappeared, and then it's too late to take one for that encounter.

Again, please make it an option like the skills bar. I would like it back. Not everyone wanted it removed

I use purple food all the time on both my VR16s. How can't you tell your food runs out? It shows ALL the bars shrink when the buff goes away. And the food buff last for over 2 hours(more if you added skill points to provisioning). You really want the massively oversized bars in the middle of screen the entire time for that long?

This change is way better then what it was. And this was the default behavior on PC and should have been there at console launch.

I use purples all the time too. Yes, u can tell when the food ends because the bars shrink. If I am in the bank, crafting etc, how am I now supposed to know when it ends? If all 3 bars are invisible, you no longer see them shrink unless your actively using health or magic etc.

Now I engage an enemy only to find out on my first attack it's ended

Yes I enjoy health bars and activity bars full time, even on my 2 hour and 20 minute food. I like it there always! That's the point, don't just remove it, have it toggle. Like the activity bar. It can be always, automatic etc. give me the same option to keep or remove them.

You're missing the point. I have foods hot keyed as well. I enjoy having the bars at all times.

The other bars have a toggle, on or automatic. All I'm asking is for the same. My eyes stay glued to my bars in a big fight. Having them abruptly changed at vet 10 sucks.

Again I just want options. That makes both sides happy right?

I have to admit that removing features is almost never a good idea, especially when the game launched with those features in place. Who cares if the stat bars are visible as long as there is an option to turn them off when full? Some players want to see them all of the time while other do not. Having an option is the best of both worlds. ZOS really needs to fire their current console UI team; they're horrible!

Everything on the UI needs options to turn on/off and on/off based on interaction.

On PC lots of add-ons confuse ppl on console but there are also basic options on PC that for whatever reason aren't available to console. This is one of many.

Never understood why it's not fully optional for either desire on/off with or without buffs and of course always off unless dying or falling below max

I think they may have been designed that way for people who play from a distance instead of right up at the screen on a PC. But lowering them, or making them a bit thinner would be welcomed.

Even stacking them and moving them to lower corner would be preferred. Again, whoever is designing the UI for consoles is very inexperienced. If ZOS wants a minimalist approach then looking at games like Mass Effect 3 would help. Heck, even copying how the PC version of ESO handles its UI would be better. Why even have a display boundary setting if the game is just going to put all the UI information in the middle anyway? Stupid is as stupid does.

So we are getting off topic. My original request was to move the Attribute bars and the Skills bar down to hug the bottom of the screen like PC.
