[BUG] Soul Shatter

Is there a known bug for soul shatter not activating? I haven't notice the effect working while having a NPC kill me while I wait to see if the passive would activate. Noticed it since the Imperial city DLC. Also it wasn't because it was activated two minutes before.

You're referring to the magicka explosion once you reach a certain low threshold of health, right?

Assuming it's not on cooldown, it's procs every time for me in IC, but I have noticed it not going off in Cyrodiil or dungeons. Hell, now that I think about it, I only notice it go off against PvE Xivkyn mobs in IC, but never anything anything else or even players.

Yes soul shatter is supposed to activate once you fall bellow 20% but I haven't notice it activate since the DLC. I have tried to get NPCs to kill me to see if it was going off but was just missing the animation but I didn't see them take any hit.

Console or PC? If console, Xbox or PS4?

To be honest, pre-DLC, I never noticed it go off, not even once. Since the DLC, I started noticing the big blue-ish/red explosion ring go off once I reached that threshold. At first, since I had never seen/noticed it before, I thought it was some sort of execute NPC mobs were throwing out. Then I realized what it was after looking up videos on it.

Bu, I do only notice it against Deadra mobs in IC, specifically against the casters.

It is on Xbox NA server. It used to work for me every time and any location PVP or PVE. I have the points into it and I just haven't seen it go off since the DLC.

It has never worked for me since beta. I have seen some selected few in pvp have it work but not many.

I assume you've got a soul magic ability slotted?

It works if you have another soul magic ability slotted ( I have soul assault, not sure if this is consider a bug or prerequisite ). If you dont, it doesn`t work. I am on Xbox live NA & it is working for me all the time everywhere ( especially in IC nowadays ). Try it.

Yep, the tooltip states:

'When soul ability is slotted
If your Health drops below 20%...'

So you now have to have a soul ability slotted? Has it always been like that?

I guess that is the case. I must of have soul assault slotted before. Well maybe someone can add this to their complaints about having an ability slotted for Vamps, and the wolves. I on the other hand will now have 2 extra skill points. Thanks for the support guys and for not digging into me for overlooking the *Ability slotted*.

Actually, that makes a lot of sense. I never noticed the prerequisite for this before and I definitely don't use a Soul Magic ability all the time. Thanks for the clarification!

It works if you have the ultimate (soul strike/shatter/assault) slotted too, you don't have to run around with soul trap on your bar.
