Stealth bug?

Is there some sort if bug where you cannot get into stealth no matter what or where you are? I only ask as I keep trying to hide in IC whilst doing a spot of pvp, but even though I'm in a different area, behind objects, with no mobs about or anyone in the same room as me, I will not be able to hide. I'm not marked and I'm pretty sure nobody is sad enough to stalk me everywhere to only mark me. After a certain amount of time am I able to hide again, until I attack something, and then I'm unable to again, even if I fight just a mob. What is going on?

I don't know about IC, but I'm having this issue in all PvE zones ever since the Justice System was implemented.
Most of the time it works, however way too often it goes "hidden - deteceted - hidden - detected - hidden.. etc" even when there's nothing and no one around. Or it just stays "detected" for no reason. Or I suddenly get a bounty while I was still hidden. The latter pretty much happens daily for me. People told me it's caused by lag, but I don't think it's (always) the case especially when there's definitely no one around.

Look around for rats, they can detect even the sneakiest of rogues.

The NPCs have eagle vision.

That's the thing... there ain't even a rat about. The only thing in the room with me is a barrel and a few crates. Unless they took a side in the alliance war too

Same, it's bloody annoying getting a bounty for stealing something when it shows you as hidden.

That would at least explain it. I'll be keeping watch for crates following me now...

Crafty Larissa might have been one of those crates. Or was there a fern following you around?

To me it looks more like butt vision.. if there's an NPC nearby in the first place.

I got 200 bounty for being seen when killing a goat by ... a GOAT..so yea...something is watching you

So just to recap: keep an eye open for crates, rats, barrels and goats as they can see you when you're hidden, and goats can place a bounty on you with the guards...

Long standing bug - IIRC it was linked with the 'stuck in combat' bug which was 'fixed' a while back

It's usually from aggroing NPCs, then stealth can hang for a good while. I usually find a zone change works, but not 100%.
