I Think I'm Officially Done With Imperial City...

I'll tell you why.

In normal circumstances, I wouldn't even bother complaining since it's part of the game and I'm choosing that risk, but losing only 1,300 stones is nothing, it's about the situation.

I've been farming stones for the Xivkyn Polymorph and I've bought 52 Green Lockboxes so far and received nothing. I farm on a Ebonheart Pact dominated campaign for about 2 hours, not every day though.

2 Daggerfall players decide to stealth near my farming spot and wait for me to get low so they can gank me, which is fair, right? but what's annoying is that they purposely drag a boss into me, go stealth with NB cloak so I get aggro and then they gank me with the very last hit so that they get all my stones and run back off to base.

Why do you reward these type of players? why? I'm simply done with IC now and the polymorph of RNG isn't even worth the time.

Lol i guess a lot of people have been in the same situation

I got my tormentor poly after spending 90 k on 6 k boxes and 30 k on 600 boxes in a 6 k box

Since then i dont care anymore about stones and have 65 k now and no idea what to do with them

But when i was leveling my new dk on the blue side last week and was solo-ing whole rooms full of zombies and stuff for the 1600xp each i used to get to about 1500 tv stones quite fast and then almost everytime killed by red or yellow gankers

In the end i sent 20k gold to a red player that kept doing loops and asked him friendly not to kill my vr 2 dk

Which worked...

Thought i would share the story. Now the dk is vr12 i can finally move on and not worry about gankers anymore

You could go to gated access campaign, take the city for your alliance and then farm safely, but you chose not to do that and these are the consequences.

Ha ha, that's exactly why I stopped solo PvE'ing in IC to.

As soon as you engage NPC's and run a little low on health + recourse, there's that guy...he who always hides and than starts spamming executioner

I'm not qq'ing about it, it seems to be the purpose of IC after all. You go there on your NB to gank solo players that's already fighting NPC's or some boss. Than you cry about evil 6-man zergs outnumbered you, even though your doing the exact same thing against solo'ers, with the help of NPC aggro.

For sure, doesn't help if you're a templar with 0 mobility and escapes. But truth be told, if I go IC on my NB I also get spammed with executioner + ulti as soon as I engage NPCs lol. Rest assure, Cloak will not work in that scenario.

I gave up on IC because of the RNG. Spending 200K on those freakin' VR16 boxes, and not getting a *single* item with a trait I want, let alone a Xivkyn poly...

The grind is just ridiculous.

Were you buying specific set containers? If so, I think that's kind of proof that polymorphs are only in unspecific boxes which cost 600 or 6000.

Yes. I am a bit unsure how exactly did that calculation work. The guy just took ~90k damage from mobs. The impale shouldn't have counted as a kill.

Some players are just too lazy to pvp, thye just wan instant access to IC and grind all the things then leave. Then next day cont....all campaigns should gated, and those players who wan access to IC, should help to def the keeps... is should be like tissss....

Yep, I was buying those. I literally burned through 200K TV and pretty much everything I got was well-fitted... <____< Or I got like 20 freakin' helmets, which are hard to sell since so many people are rocking Undaunted gear.

The stone loss is much too high IMO. Went with a group to do some PvP in one of the districts last night and all 3 alliances were there going at it. Our group started doing well, stayed alive for a decent amount of time with good coordination. Then BAM one death and nearly all that effort erased. One death and almost nothing to show for it. What's the point?

It totally sucks the fun out of PvP. Should I head to the bank every 5m to bank my stones? Lame.

How much sense does it make that the safest/best way to farm in a PvP area is to go mob killing and avoid other players?

When I used to solo trophy farm in sewers I always banked on never returning with Telvar stones. NB groups just cloak up and wait for the rite time. Griefer paradise

The problem is that you were healing and trying to stay alive given that it took 91k damage to kill you. If a boss is on you when you are being ganked let him kill you asap.

yeah there's just no point once you've crafted your v16 pieces... the polymorph is like "please don't leave, come back! kill more stuff, sit around an arena chest for hours if you have to just please don't leave!"

IC is haunted by possessive entities, I swear......

I did but then phoenix set activated and then I was like oooooooooooooooh crap, because I seen the NB's just waiting for me to be vulnerable again so as soon as I could move again, I healed myself out of the bosses AOE but it was too late and then the NBs were stalking my body like vultures.

Oh well, at least it ended my reason to even go to IC. I'll stick with Cyrodiil.

Unless you hit the boss with an AoE I don't see how they were able to get it to aggro you. They couldn't cloak and drop aggro because sweepers are persistent.

I was Puncturing Sweep-ing Bloodfiends while they pulled the boss in to my cone-shaped AOE.

I gave up on IC after playing the PTS.

ZOS did listen to some feedback, but the major feedback they pretty much ignored and went ahead with the TV Stone loss rate and leaving the city ungated, leaving most of Cyrodiil(s) a ghost town.

Unless they make major changes in most campaigns (and soon) they have lost many PvP players.

I actually belive a force pulls could do more dmg then that laughable impale, but I see your point.
Well thats one of the risk by farming tho, witch is intended with IC.
The safe way is to back to base every 800 TV stones or something. It might be boring, but its the safe way.
Also when the campaign is totally crowded, there is no chance to solo farm for along time.
What you could do, is to bring a friend or 2 and farm dead districts in the middle of the night on a dead campaign. That would be so safe that you can actually farm with the 1000 stone multiplier and back ever 2000 stones, and bank 1000 at the time.
Even if you one time would lose those 1k stones you always carry, you will have earned so much more due to this anyway.

Take Phoenix off while solo in IC. It just makes you die and then experience deja vu. Dying when you want to is a huge part of keeping your stones in IC. Phoenix takes that control away from you.

I think a player should have to get at least 50% of the damage in that situation for them to get any stones from your corpse. Letting the mobs do all the work and giving the ganker the credit/rewrd is just encouraging griefing and caters to the worst type of individuals... not what a MMO should want it's PvP reputation to be.

Overall, it just seems to me that Imperial City was unfinished. What is the point of the Districts? just people dying and respawning in seconds. I guess that's the entrance to the vaults? but that's about it from what I could tell.

I don't think many would disagree that Imperial City is a PVE zone with pvp turned on.

on the bright side, you can buy all that stuff that you would want from IC pretty cheap on guild stores now. so not much point in going there anymore.

If Zenimax wants Imperial City to be relevant, they need to add more content to make people want to go there...else after Orsinium goes live, that whole zone will be dead and nobody will buy it in Crown store.

I remember a game called warhammer online that had a pve zone like Imperial City that you had to unlock for your faction, but it had the best items in game. some of these people worked for warhammer online so I guess they carried the idea over, except much water downed...and not as good as the original idea.

and Orsinium is coming pretty soon and looks a lot better than IC.
