was away from this game for some time. My orginal charcter was a sword and board DragonKnight, and I put hours into the char, training up vrafting skills , the bow, and medium armour. With the changes to mechanics, a lot of what I trained no longer works as well as it did... in fact, he gets slaughtered in pve combat, where he used to do okay.

I've reset his skills, and would like to retrain him into heavy armour and greatswords, but I'm not sure whether I should bother or just slug through creation of another character from scratch? Any suggestions?

    Two handers are very powerful right now. It's not like it used to be when they sucked. Wrecking blow is amazing and you can plow through mobs and take no damage with brawler.

    Are you magic or stamina? Breton says magic, but medium and bow says stamina....not sure which way you are leaning. If you are stamina, you might want to stick with medium for the DPS bonuses. Bow actually received a buff last patch so I'm not quite sure how you are having problems with that. CP makes Bow monster single target and bombard gives nice CC with immobilize passive. If you are magic based, then your problem is likely there as your stamina is likely too low to allow bow to shine. Heavy armor is really considered tank gear now as light armor really shines for magic DPS, and medium armor is for melee DPS. Two hand is great whether in medium or heavy (hell with the recent change to Two handed passive heavy weapon it is great for light armor magic DK as well). I can give you some more definitive answers if you post more of the build you are using or would like to use, but this should get you started.

    I trained stamina and mostly medium armour, bow for ranged DPS. I'll take a screenshot later and post it. Of course, at the time I played him, Vet 5 was almost maxed out, so I put a lot of time into crafting... I may just keep the character for that because there wasn't much he couldn't craft in terms of armour, glyphs, and weapons etc.

    Hi,

    DO NOT CHANGE YOUR ARMOUR,

    Using a greatsword and its skills requires Medium armour for the passives to stamina and crit
    As a vr5/6 do the following

    Get hold of hundings rage set(4pce armour, bow(sharpened), Maul(sharpened))
    5 pce ravager(3 jewelry + 2 Armour(Heavy))
    1 monster helm(Blood spawn) for Stam regen.

    All attributes into stamina.

    skills on 2H - wrecking blow, rally and executioner
    Skills on Bow - poison injection, focus aim and bombard

    Dk skills - Molten armaments, Green Dragon Blood, Hardened armour, Dragon scale..

    Used properly this will do alot of damage and has a CC like Bombard to slow attackers.

    I'm in too deep I'm vet 13 and DKs are just a joke now, complete joke, only stam DKs could be considered a challenge to anyone else but needs a *** ton of work to get the stats right,

    Ps- it's obvious DKs are the weakest class in pvp right now, since theirs new builds for every class and only 1 out for the stam DK but for that 2 work you NEED to be v16 you NEED to have master weapons and you NEED to be excellent at pvp in general to pull it off.
