Suggestion for implementing Jewelry Crafting

To start with Jewelry Crafting has been asked for numerous times in the past and I myself am included in that group. I even asked in the Ask Us Anything thread if we will get it or not but no answer yet since they haven't done that segment since I asked... In case Jewelry Crafting is a bit difficult to implement due to the current existance and purpose of gemstones I propose the following means of Jewelry Crafting to make it doable:

First of all, as already suggested by someone, a Jeweler Skill Line would be needed. Jewelry Crafting simply would not fit into any existing Crafting Skill.

Next is the issue with the gemstones. My proposal is leave the current gemstones as is and make Ore Nodes yield the possibility of providing Raw Gems that current Jewelry uses (Raw Garnet, Raw Amethyst, Raw Emerald, Raw Ruby, etc.) or and not to steal from Runescape or anything you could just call them Uncut. As with any refining you will need 10 of them to refine into Gems that can be used for the crafting. The name could be Cut Gem, Clean Gem, Chiseled Gem, etc. And of course as with any refinement it yields the chance to give improvement materials, trait gems, etc.

Jewelry doesn't have styles nor can it be seen as you wear it so no point going over Jewelry Styles. Instead I will cover Improvement Materials! These would be comprised of Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum in that order.

And finally, the Traits! As we all know Jewelry basically has 3 Traits: Max Health, Max Magicka, and Max Stamina. For these I propose the item names Lifestone, Mindstone, and Soulstone. These are just ideas though so feel free to come up with whatever works better lol

Needless to say some Jeweler Stations will need to be added wherever other Crafting Stations already exist, but that shouldn't be an issue right Zenimax? ;)

So what do you all think? Would especially like to see the opinions of @ZOS_GinaBruno and others :) Also if I left anything out feel free to speak up lol

I would also love for this to happen, but i don't think it will. Only for the fact that we will be able to craft two full sets of 5 bonuses sets & i don't think they want that imo.

Unless they make it that the jewelry we craft won't be a part of bonus sets, which really would be pointless

I hope for jewelry to be viewable on our characters with full motifs and styles.

As for everything else.. spot on!

They could make the jewelry from a crafted set be unique equipped. So only 1 piece of jewelry per crafted set. This would allow two 5-piece bonuses if using 2 weapons/shield per bar.

But it does influence gear choices much more greatly. Could do two full sets, or 1 jewelry piece from 3 different crafted sets, and so on

We can already have full sets of Warlock and Healer. Why? Because the sets have jewels. Lighten up, Z. Don't treat craft sets like 2nd class cits.

People can already wear two sets by mixing the right sets, so I really see no reason to deny jewelry crafting for these reasons...

More of a reason is that jewellers would have a little too few things to craft - only amulets & rings? Worse, with less traits then all other crafts to research? That does look a bit like there isn't enough to it to be worth a skill line... so the solution might be to add things to craft!

Besides rings and amulets, there could be more things that are visible and want racial styles - circlets and crowns for the head slot, or bracers/armlets for the hand slot that do not count as armor, but provide other interesting boni... a crown for a group buff if worn by the group leader, perhaps? bracers that add to spellcasting, or something like that?

Then I always wanted alternate weapons for destruction and restoration magic... I say "Spell Focus", and I mean things like ornate spellbooks, gemmed skulls, shaman rattles, meditation crystals, holy symbols, etc. Sounds right up a jewelers alley, doesn't it? And would add four weapon type things to craft.

I like this suggestion and I want to tweak and add to it!

First off, about adding additional crafting stations for jewelers. Yes that might need to be done, but an easier way might be to use the existing Crafting Stations. Think of accessories as more than just metals and gems, you can also have leather rings/bands and necklaces made from Cloth. This is also the case for wood, in that it's not uncommon to have wooden rings and necklaces. I don't want to explain and post a lot of images here, but you can search google for the images concerning accessories that aren't just metal and gems and it'll explain itself.

So anyway, we could have Smithing accessories that are made with metals and gems. Clothier accessories made with leathers and fabrics. And finally Carpenter accessories made with various woods. This could all be added into the existing Crafting Stations as an additional menu specific to accessories.

As for traits, if they were to add this addition to crafting then they should also add additional traits similar to the ones we have for weapons and armour, but still including the current traits already specific to accessories. I'd like to see infused, precise, divines etc. available for accessories. I'm sure their are plenty of gemstone names they have not used yet.

Sounds like a great idea! Would be nice if they can slot along with craftable sets too, would mean there's more options for wearing several sets, etc. Or, would there be a whole new load of craftable sets just for jewellery?

Implement jewelry crafting. Lock it behind PvP.

Whether it happens or not is up to Zenimax yes and all sarcasm and synessism toward Zenimax aside I merely came up with a way Jewelry Crafting could be added without conflicting existing things in the game, namely the gemstones.

Personally though I see no reason Jewelry Crafting cannot be added. After all, we had it in TESV: Skyrim.

Also the way I suggested obtaining the materials to craft Jewelry makes it slightly harder than other crafts to work with since you won't always find the materials you need in the Ore Veins. Sort of more comparable to Runescape sure but it would make it so getting top notch Jewelry took more effort than current crafting. Also Zenimax could make it require outrageous amounts of materials to work with if they wanted, like the current VR16 crafting.

It would be much easier to implement if they just tied it to blacksmithing with the level of the rings and type of ring tied to the type of metal used to create it, the style material used, and any set it's crafted as.

With LootDrop you can see that rings already have various motif styles attached to them. So I doubt it'd be all that hard to implement. Judging from how the TES Construction Kits work it'd largely just be adding of some "recipes" and setting the conditions to unlock them (e.g. acquiring motifs, leveling blacksmithing, and being at a set crafting station).

There MUST be a way of implementing jewellery crafting. Surely its a case of where there's a will there's a way? I'd love to see this happen. Please can we have this ZOS?

You know, I'm not really sure about Jewerly crafting now. Of coure it would be awesome, specially for people that prefers crafted sets instead of the ones that drop. It would allows to use two full crafted set and we would still have two slots left.

But what made me thing about if Jewerly craft was actually a good idea is the fact that, currently, jewelry is like a special rewards for people that actually runs throught content, the lack of jewelry craft is one of the reason that makes us go out there and explore. Anyway, I'm not totally convinced by this point yet, but I'm inclined to it.
