Well EQOA for the PS2 lasted for over 12 years.. Even after the PS3 came out people were still playing it..
If the right company is behind a console MMO it will last for years.
That's true. Like I said, perhaps the demographic is slowly changing. Just seems to be easier to make one last on pc. Perhaps it's just a matter of sheer volume of titles that release there vs console, and not so much dependent on the platform.
@Funkopotamus I disagree, I think pc gaming is bigger than ever, hence the Alienware alpha, long gone are the days that you need an office to put a pc in, and a monitor and keyboard and setups, you can get a pc, plug it into the TV in the living room and use a controller.
And I don't think anyone could ever argue a console is anywhere near as powerful as a built pc. I recently purchased bf 4 on my pc that I used to have on console, and the graphics are on a whole new level, not to mention frame rates, mods to keep old games updated etc etc

Just for my PC gaming."
Now with having said that I believe the days of PC only titles are dying out. I spent the $194.00 for early access to ArcheAge last year and that was one of the reasons along with ESO that I dropped the $2k+ on that Asus!
All I am saying is that the days of having to own a PC that you could use to run a space expedition to mars with are long gone. Consoles today are able to run most MMO's. In fact I look for games like GW2 and a few others to port over to consoles in the next year or two.
Back to the topic: If ESO dies it will NOT have anything to do with the console community not embracing it.. It will be because the developers failed the console MMO community!!
People need to stop thinking that all console players are all children or that console people are as a whole just mindless casuals! I happen to know a number of folks around my age that all have been playing MMO's together from game to game for YEARS and we all enjoy playing on our console.!

Hole Jesus Christ laptop prices are insane.
I bought my rig, for less than 700 pounds, it'd capable of supporting even games like crysis 3 on a 4k screen. Hell it should be able to play any game at 4k for the next 5 years
How the hell do laptops cost that much more!?!

Nothing's shutting down anytime soon. Relax, go play.

Until its announced how many subscribers there are, these concerns are real. 1 subscriber = 1 paying account. Not 1 account with 8 alts making a fake 8 subscribers.
The reason the group finder sucks is not because it doesn't work.. There's no one playing this game. Opening it up to all factions will be nice, but co-ordinated PvP cheating will reach an all time high. With no gamemasters on console it wont matter regardless.
It doesn't take a genius to see what's going on here. Real numbers or these people are raising a legitimate concern.

Someone is uninformed. The real truth is people are either sitting in a crowded market area or are in Cyrodiil.

Personally, I would still play the game if I wanted to even if the servers were ghost towns.

Ugh What?!?
PC is working on its third year. As of Console Launch it was entering its second year. And the playerbase dipped quite a lot after the first summer.
ESO is no more special than any other MMO out there. If they make too many decisions that chase off too many players at any given time. They run the risk of the title tanking. And Console has definitely saw an exodus. Unlike PC Players Console players have the ability to sell their game if it does not please them. So theyre less likely to stick with it through hard times if the game takes a turn for the worst. Since they arent completely out their investment like PC Players.
What on earth would make you think console is dying?
Console accounts in all likelihood out number PC accounts at the moment.

"If ESO console dies..." like a start of some song.

Nope. 1 paying subscriber counts towards the total. The total sub count are the people who pay the bills. Total count of paying customers or the rest is flake talk.
I've seen your responses. You are better than average, but my logic is at its core the real truth. You are dismissed
