What is a combat pet?

Thanks to @Sublime I have spotted this set

and it made me wonder, what constitutes a combat pet?

We all know the sorcs get access to pets, but seeing as this is a stamina set only stam sorcs running pets (and that's probably in the single digits) will benefit unless the NB's Shade also counts as a pet...

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Any creature spawned by the player that actively contributes to the current combat situation your in.

Daedroth Monster Helm Procs

Nightblades Shades.

Shades are not pets, it's an unpurgable debuff.

shades count as pets. I have had a NB friend get to 50k magicka with shades out because of necropotence.

Haven't tested but I'd like to assume that The NB Shade as well as the Daedroth and Dwemer Sphere from Undaunted sets count as pets too, if I had Necropetence set would be easy to test.

Basically any pets that are not just vanity (follow you do nothing, bought from crown store/rewards) would count as combat pets in my opinion.

Which makes the set even more confusing.....

Sorc pets only scale off magicka.... so why in the name of Azura would a STAMINA sorc run them?

(Answer..... only a yoghurt!)

And as for Maw of the Infernal..... think I have only seen one person running this in months..... and the chance to get 1k health/stam return every 5 secs (At best) is hardly going to persuade anybody to run it.

The set will be used solely for the 2/3/4 piece bonuses especially given there is jewellery. But even then.... Agility is probably better.

P.S> 10 bonus points for anybody spotting the red dwarf reference!

last i checked the NB shades didn't count because they have no HP and cannot be attacked..

The deadroth does count though..

Tested on Necropotence set..

As for the new set, it really only seems useful for a Stam Sorc tank for which it is absolutely amazing.

futhuremore until we test it that set bonus might work PER pet... so if the atronach, twilight and clanfear are out might even be OP.

I have since decided that the 5 pc. bonus seems weak number wise anyway so /shrug
