VR removal

    I would like to see VR removed. Maybe just a straight level cap and advancements in gear/glyphs/weapons...ect. Like an item level lock for certain dungeons and what not. Make the last 10 level stretch equal to that of veteran ranks. After the next DLC cap it off 60? 70? I REALLY hate leaving veteran ranks for the simple fact that it's hard to find a group on PS4 and half the time they are 4+ ranks below and it makes it impossible being VR7 and have 3 under VR4. I want my full experience without having to pass them lead just so they can do it..

    I would love to hit max level (50) and have the entire game opened up to me. Instead of having to level up each patch in order to do the current content is a drag and should be reserved for big expansions.
    Indeed, I forgot this part in my reasoning above. Whoever heard of reaching endgame (officially Level 50) and then having to level up through endgame to a second cap? That's a contradiction to what "endgame" is supposed to be.

    Never heard of EverQuest? Dark Age of Camelot? RIFT? They all had alternate advancement systems where you grind XP for more power after hitting level cap. Even other MMOs don't stop the leveling process for good. Every time an expansion hits, games raise the level cap in order to invalidate all previous work and force people to grind for new gear while letting new and old players catch up to everyone else. There's little difference between VR16 and the level cap being raised to 66. I mean clearly level 50 isn't the "endgame" anymore than level 60 is the endgame for World of Warcraft. It's simply the end of the main story.
    I always thought that Alternate Advancement was a more horizontal progression system; my point of "levelling through endgame" refers to the fact that you are very much encouraged (though not directly forced) to do Cadwell's before Craglorn because of the VRs each is set at.

    What's the difference? I don't understand why people have an issue with this. What is the difference between VR16 and level 66 other than what you call it?
    There's a major technical difference, if nothing else. Level 45 is five levels above Level 40, as expected. But VR2 is the same Level as VR10. Veteran Ranks are all layers on top of Level 50; VR1 is Level 50, and VR16 is Level 50. The other difference is that it takes a load more XP to go up one Veteran Rank than it does to go up one Level, because they are scaled differently.

    Content-wise, as I've said before, the problem is the linear/vertical progression of
    Cadwell's Silver -> Cadwell's Gold -> Lower Craglorn -> Upper Craglorn -> Trials/Cyrodiil/Vet Dungeons

    Endgame content shouldn't progress vertically like that, it should be much more horizontal, like this:
    Cadwell's Silver 1 -> Cadwell's Silver 5
    Cadwell's Gold 1 -> Cadwell's Gold 5
    Lower Craglorn -> Upper Craglorn
    Easy Trials -> Hard Trials
    Cyrodiil
    First-Round Vet Dungeons -> Top Tier Vet Dungeons
    This is so people can do the endgame content that they want to do without having to faff around with the stuff they don't just to be viable.

    Oh dear no, not at all. AA points were very much REQUIRED for endgame content. The fewer you had, the more impossible the raid would be. Think of it like going to an amusement park and all the rides say "You must have this much CP to enter". I can assure you that will happen here too. They'll release content that is TOO HARD and requires farming CP just to complete. But it doesn't directly stop you from trying anyway, you'd just have better luck squeezing a camel through the eye of a needle.

    Other games do release expansion raises though. You are required to grind to level 70 to handle Northrend content in WoW, or get to level 90 to enter some of the Planes in EverQuest. It's the same thing with a different name to it.

    Vr ranks definitely hurt dungeon grouping. Unless someone only wants a gold key. That's been my experience anyways, was hoping new grouping tool would include a vr range Finder as part of it also with all factions

    WHY DOES EVERYONE IN THIS FRIGGING MMO WORLD THINK LEVELS AND POWER CREEP ARE RIGHT?! This game is about building your character and playing....thats it, grinding for six months to get gear then have the level cap increased and make all my gear almost worthless in competitive play is a slap in the face...why do you fuckstick support this? If they HAD NOT INCREASED LEVEL CAP to v16, and simply implemented not more powerful but "different" set bonuses, 90% of the population would still play the new content! 5% would *** moan and complain that they don't want the 90% to still be powerful aka "power creep fanbois", and 5% would not change a damn thing on their build and STILL be happy. We DO NOT need level increases EVER. cap should be 50. Until the end of eso. Champion system was supposed to be the "leveling system" to give us a carrot. I cannot stand that everytime I get geared for two roles in this game the level cap increases and I have top 6 months to enjoy my character. Quick question, was a level cap increase neccesarry between IC and ORC? NO! You know WHY? because they gave us more options to build! If they had never increased level cap from v10, we would still be getting all this awesome gear to go after, wed still have all the older content that wouldn't have to be scaled, and we wouldn't have had to grind out 6 pointless levels, just so that zos can "take out" gear sets they don't like. And god help them if after the dropping of vr's they gate gear through cp's....gear gating and level is a horrible concept and needs to go. ESO IS BETTER THAN THAT GUYS COMMON!

    I completely agree. But I think you mean "come on", ESO is far from what you would consider "common".

    IMO there should have been no VR levels in the first place and the game capped at level 50 which would eliminate the need for battle leveling in PVP.

    I'm not a fan of CP and especially the way it is implemented account wide instead of character based.

    Success in PVP should be due to the player's skill, armor, weapon, and ability configuration, not due to who has the higher VR level or the most CP; yes, skill still plays a big part in endgame success, but ESO is rigged for those players who spend more time playing than those who don't. I'm not stating that a casual player should get the same rewards as the dedicated players. Dedicated players will always score higher in the leader boards, have more skill points, and better equipment, and that's the way it should be.

    ... but end game should not be about grinding to reach VR16 or to max out CP; it is about creating an entertaining sandbox that provides a variety of fun things to do. Just search the forums and you will find hundreds of ideas for end game content.
