Guilds must have store for tabards?

After reading the patch 1.3 notes from ZOS on 7/21, I am a little irritated with this particular issue: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/118546/pts-patch-notes-v1-3-0

•Guild Heraldry •This feature unlocks once a guild has reached 10 members.
•Guild leaders can design a heraldry that will appear on equippable tabards. Customization of your heraldry costs a fee in gold that is automatically deducted from your guild’s bank. To modify the guild’s heraldry, guild leaders can click the heraldry tab on the Guild window (displayed before the history tab).
•There are over 250 colors, 63 backgrounds, and 136 crests available for creating a heraldry.
•Once a heraldry has been designed, any guild member can purchase a tabard by visiting the Guild’s Store and searching for items of type ‘Guild Items’.
•If a guild leader changes the tabard, all tabards update in real-time.

This by very definition means that unless you have an established guild store, you cannot make use of the tabard system until you have obtained one. Is this true? Am I reading this correctly? This is the equivalent of a used car salesman saying you can have the keys to the car door but not the one that fits the ignition to start.

What about guilds that have around 10-40 members? The small elite pvp and pve squads that fuction solely as private guilds such as for Roleplaying or hunter killer squads in pvp? Do they not get to make use of this system until they are forcibly made to recruit and then kick folks?

Please tell me I am reading this wrong.

From what i understood, you can access the store and have a tab in there to buy the tabard.
That's unlocked at the 10 member when you unlock the tabard, and you can buy a tabard from each guild

I seriously hope you are right my friend. Roleplaying and squad coordination is already hard enough without having to deal with the walmart style "catch em all and then kick em all" that some folks are trying to implement for stores.

I was wondering this too. I have been gm of a guild since launch our ideal size is about 30 active players for trials etc.
does this mean we won't all have access to the guild tabbard?

People have been creating guilds in PTS for the purpose of playing with tabards. In PTS, all you need is 10 people and the tabard can be purchased from the bank guild store.

When you unlock the Tabard by getting 10 players in the guild, the created tabard shows up in the guild store regardless if you have the 50 player min to buy and sell.

I have a quick question for people who are in the PTS who tested it out- if you get ten players, unlock the heraldry, make your guild tabard, buy a guild tabard, and then a couple people leave and bring you below that 10 member mark, is it still unlocked? Does it still show up?

Like your guild bank, once your members are under 10, you can not add to the bank or buy a tabard. At 10 members, the guild store shows up but you can only buy the tabard. At 50 members the guild store allows you to sell items.

Did not check that, I will log back into PST (I have a tabard and 9 members)

EDITED, the whole Tabard edit menu is gone, so that looks like a no. Once under 10 members, no changes allowed to the Tabard. But I am STILL wearing the tabard I created and brought before the members dropped to under 10

to aquire tabard
- need 10+members in guild
- to buy tabard go to store.. you can buy it there if you have 10 members.. but cannot use full guild store functionality.. only tabards.. this is on PTS to..

well you can buy the tabbard with less the 50 ppl in the guild,what i dont understand why the guildstore unlocks @50 members?tottaly dumb really.it should be automaticly be unlocked as soon as you create the guild

I was able to go to the bank and access "guild store" with 10 members. I'm in three guilds, so I had to hit "F" to pick the correct guild. It doesn't show you anything but the Tabard if you are a small guild, but I was able to buy one.

Guild Store access at 50 members allows you to list items in the Guild Store. There's nothing stopping you from looking at the Guild Store or even buying things from it with less than 50 members.

If, for example, you hit 50 members and someone listed items in the Guild Store, then someone else left and put you at 49, those items would still be listed and purchasable. Same goes for tabards.

The explanation of the Guild Store system isn't adequately clear on these points and could be improved.

UMmm Go to the bank and access your guild store. Purchase heraldry. Easy. You don't need a Guild Vendor in order to access heraldry.

Could someone let me know if you have to keep purchasing new tabards for every guild? If so, that's quite annoying.. This one tabard cost me 2K u_u

As far as I know you don't have to buy one for each guild you are in, but i'm not 100% sure, never really tried.

However to be honest, 2k gold isn't a whole lot of money, you can usually have that just rom general gameplay and looting by the time your character is level 10, and at higher levels 2k gold is simply two or three quests with looting.

I already have a Tabard, but would like to donate a few Tabards to other people.

Can you buy a Tabard for another member?

I could give them 2K, but then maybe they spoil the gold on women, alcohol or narcotics. lol

I'd rather be spending that 2k on bag/bank space and horse upgrades when I'm low level. I think once we hit the high levels we forget just how precious gold is when you're first starting out. That said, if you're wanting to buy tabards at low levels, then you're not really fussed about gold anyway.

If you want to sport the new guild's colours, yes. In my experience, though, guilds don't generally require people to buy tabards. In fact, in my experience it's not uncommon for guild officers to be willing to pay for tabards for members who can't afford them.

So it's 2019, I have 10 members and Heraldry says it's activated but I see no option to create it anywhere in the guild store.

Anyway, isn't the option to create the guild heraldry only available to the guild leader, via the guild tab, rather than the guild store? As far as I understand it, it costs a few thousand gold to create too.
