How important is crit for your healing

As anon Templar healer how important is crit for healing. Every mmo I have basically direct heals were possible to crit although it has been a long time I can't remember if hot ticks were made to crit. Basically if I'm using a resto staff only since I'm playing as a nb healer, should I put focus on crit? Usually I'll stack sufficient base stats and spellpower so that overall my heals are strong then I start to bring in other stats as my gear improves. Does each tick of a hot have the chance to crit? Also what is a good base crit to shoot for, I was trying for 40% . also all my questions pertain to pve. Thanks

bigereard✭✭My templar usually have at least 49% crit chance.
It's easy because of:
Base : 10%
Light armor : 10%
Major Buff : 10%
Champion : 12%
Weapon Enchant : 7%
In this area you can invest on crit without disrupt other healing stat.
Not every HoT can crit. Purifying Ritual for example can crit, while Vigor can't.

Fizzlewizzle✭✭✭✭From what i've seen all Restoration staff heals can crit.
I'm not sure about Vigor, as it is a Stamina based heal, and thus i assume it works of weapon crit (of which i have little).
I personally play in 7/7 heavy armor with a Restoration staff.
As for my crit:
Base: 10%
Major: 10%
Champion: 12%
Weapon trait: 6% (Not gold yet).
Thief mundus stone: 12%
I personally find the bonuses you get from the mundus stones quite weak. Having the extra crit doesn't really effect my total healing much, besides the fact i crit-heal more often.
(I wear 7/7 heavy because Spell pen doesn't seem to increase healing done, hence i went for better defense and more healing received).Mending-The-Wounded, Aldmeri Dominion, Templar.0
