Battle levelling again??

Why does this keep happening with all the dlc? Surely you're taking away the point to actually levelling if you keep doing this with all further content. And please why dungeons to get the new motifs? I play on Xbox 1 and it's so hard to find a group to do any dungeon in game now. I can't imagine doing any in the near future until I can use group finder. I know you have to market to all players, but I can't see a reason to buy the new dlc.

Battle levelling is so that you can do the DLC regardless of what level you are, and use that content to level up at an appropriate pace for your level. For me, for example, I will be using Battle-levelled Orsinium to rank up in Veteran Ranks, since I don't want to do Cadwell's quests.

People complain about levelling, then they complain about not having to level. I don't get it.

I also play Xbox One and since joining multiple guilds and getting involved with the communities I have not had a problem finding people for dungeons. Yes group finder is broken but you have to be proactive about these things rather than spend your time complaining, you could have found a group in the time!

As a heads up, there are always a mass of people at the Undaunted base outside Elden Root raring to get the dailies done, you can always ask for groups there.

On the subject of Battle Levelling (BL), what's more unfair is that slower paced and casual gamers could be penalised and not able to play the new DLC; that would be why it is present, as Enodoc said, it gives all players a (sort of) equal chance to enjoy the DLC and areas involved.

Being social helps with that thing you call a headset. I even use my ps4 community page eso:undaunted which is better now with cross faction dungeons

Battle lvl'in allows more people to play it. Why is this bad?

I think the dungeons are public ones, which means just travel there. Honestly Im more worried about getting hits in and drops compared to being able to get a group.

The dlc looks great and the announced changes are just brilliant. Hope all goes well.

Ok, so if I want to go straight from Coldharbour to Orsinium.......let's assume I can get from level 50 to VR 4 once I've done all of the content in Orsinium.

Does that mean that if I start Cadwells silver I will get hardly any XP as I have already overlevelled in Orsinium...which would make staring Cadwells even more painful if I am not earning any XP until I reach the third or fourth zone?

Is that how it will work?

I expect there are a lot more people having trouble finding groups than those that are successful.

Check the trophy/achievement % of the starting area dungeons, it's shocking.

You would get less XP from the mobs, yes, but you'd still get full XP for all the quests and location completions, and Veteran quest XP was boosted by 50% in Update 7.

Max level of quests is technically 50, at vet ranks you are also technically level 50.

Put it this way, on my vr15 templar I noticed I forgot the ad starter island in silver which is vr1, the mobs didn't give exp, but I got half a rank by just doing the quests.

That's true. Quest XP is not affected by over-levelling anyway (completing a Level 5 quest at Level 5 or Level 45 will still give you Level 5 quest XP). Mob XP works differently at Vet because of this "everything's 50" situation as well; rather than dropping off to 0 XP once you over-level the mobs by 5 levels, like it did for Level 1-45, it works like this (at least, as of 1.5.4):
You will receive full XP credit for monsters 1-3 ranks below you.
You will receive 75% of XP for monsters 4 ranks below you.
You will receive 30% of XP for monsters 5 ranks or more below you.
Note: This does not affect levels 1-50.

Yeah its because you are always capped at 'level 50' and veteran ranks are a separate leveling system with its own mechanics.

You can explore, quest, and level up anywhere you like in Oblivion and Skyrim. Does that mean there's no point in levelling in those games?

This is exactly how the game should have been from day one, and it's awesome to see it happening with the DLC. The thought of this being applied to all zones in the game, so we can choose where we want to level, explore different locations with alts, and make levelling all about character customization and unlocking new skills instead of being rail-roaded through level-gated content, makes me very happy.

At the very least I'm happy to see the DLC being delivered this way, and when there are lots of new DLC locations to choose between levelling will be a lot more fun =)
