Not a grinder. Have 153 CP, am very salty. a lot of interest in playing this game past endgame and in the long term just went out the window. and i found PvP to be more interesting because of CP.
was just talking to Guilds about the possibility of this change the other day. you really are gonna see a lot of good players leaving with this change. and not even grinders or op players in anyway just people who've been playing since beta.
Don't understand some reasoning in this thread. Who cares how you got your CP? If you have more than most players, it's an imbalance. A seasonal cap is no solution, but better than what we have now and it might make the game a bit more enjoyable while it is dieing anyway.

That is you but I know many who played the game for about a year. Then one day they realize they need to start grinding CPs to be effective in the game. For many, the idea of mixed pve/ pvp was too much. By playing PvP alone you would get maybe 1-3 CPs daily. We already knew after a couple of days after 1.6 launched that some were grinding around 10 CPs daily. I am speaking of HC PvP players not some casuals. If you got 153 I fail to see your logic. You hardly hit 501 any time soon. I mean they prolly raise the cap b4 you are even close to 501.

Agree here.
Next, CPs were acknowledged as a huge imbalance problem by basically everyone. I'm not sure anybody even likes the CP system. Not sure why people will be upset. If you hit 500 CPs early, congrats you'll be on a level field with everyone. That's what we want in pvp. Balanced fights.

I guess coming from daoc i´ve been socialized with a system where there was no balance bc you had infinite character progression with the RA system. Still the best pvp to date in my opinion.
I don´t want an even playingfield. I want a fair chance and character progression with goals to work towards in pvp.

I understand this perspective. The players that post here on these forums are top couple of percent. Yes, we will lose some of our effort. Just like when I lose my gold gear on level cap increases.
The big caveat is the following:
At least on NA, pvp needs fresh blood. There are players that have been hanging around which will have these CPs. Lots of players have quit that should be encouraged to return. New players need to not be handicapped. A catch up mechanism and seasonal cap addresses both of those.

Doesn't matter. i am not a grinder and do not have a lot of CP and am extremely disappointed with this change. so, your assertion of only grinders will be salty over this change is wrong.
I'm in large part a Solo player. CP made PvP encounters interesting. wasn't stagnant. however, putting that aside. a lot of players i enjoyed playing with are going to leave because of this, so i probably will as well. that's putting aside the fact that 75% of my friend list is already inactive due to 2.1. there is just less and less reason to continue playing the game. sad because this is the only MMO i've ever really enjoyed, short but sweet i guess.
Why is that? Dont you think that PvPing 4 hours per night gives you 1 CP? Why ppl who PvE should have an advantage on me?Lava_Croft wrote: »People complaining that the cap is too low are people who care more about themselves than the overall health of a sickly game.

You do realize that many of the top PvP guilds are inactive after 1.6 CP system was introduced. I can only hope that the damage inflicted to them will be partly repaired. I hate to see guildies leave the game because of the forced CP rally. They said this is a disaster when the 1.6 patch notes on PTS were released. For playing the game since BETA they were given 75 CPs. 75 lousy CPs. You don´t need to be a genious to see that to get the good perks you needed hundreds of CPs. One of my guildie said he needs around 800 to have the build he wants. If nothing CP system was a slap in the face of many usually active players.
I don´t care of CP cap being higher because I have enough to be on level with majority of players. But I can see the point of 501 cap. It is high for the majority of the gamers. Maybe they can enjoy of the game again. If they gain 1-3 CP daily by just PvPing and keep them competitive it is all I can hope.
500 is perfect. I'm really happy about this change. I only have one character, barely stopped playing and I'm only at 300CPs. The only valid and understandable reason why people would be above is because they have alts, really. Otherwise, it's pure grinding which got nerfed and isn't possible to accomplish anymore.
Wot...
Just to clarify, people were able to grind 10cps per hour for months in the beginning.
I am over 500 CP, getting 3-4 CP per day is not a problem for an active player. You gain a lot by questing with your alts. Doing daily undaunted pledges with 4 characters gives you a lot of experience every day + trials, arena and so ... there should´t be a cap, just a experience necessary to gain a CP should be raising (like in paragon system in DIABLO 3).
Now, when Orsinium comes, I wont have the fruits of my time spent making CP.
I have been paying for thi game since the early access, but this is too much even for me.
I want a refund for my prepaid subscription!
Update 6 came alive at 3.4 +- few days, players with more VR character ge 70 CP + 9 months x 30 days = 270 CP with enlightment. We are now at 340 CP.
if you dared and played more than for your enlightment, lets say you have made 2 CP a day you are now at 540 CP and thats over cap. CP a day is not a problem even for a pure PvP players.
It is strange that we are rewarded +10 % exp gain by ESO plus membership but then we are going to be punished for using it.
