So what's up with the loading screens?

70 seconds per zone on average. I've been playing since launch and I've never seen it this bad. Aye, there has always been the occasional hiccup, even a few occasions where many of us were falling for 80k fall damage upon log in.
I'm not talking about that though. I mean ever since IC, loading screen times are consistently MUCH longer than they used to be. I've been timing them with a stopwatch and the average is 70 seconds. Even low population Vet zones are taking over a minute. This is terrible. Has ZOS given us some kind of reason for this?

Perhaps. But they've had a few maint since IC launch already. I can't help but suspect that loading screens were intentionally made longer in order to somehow enhance server performance. Perhaps tied in with the "shadow player" system they just implemented in order to "enhance server performance". But that doesn't explain why empty zones are taking so long to load.
