The scrolls run out when logged out of game ? I dont believe this is meant to happen. So i wasted probly about 3 scrolls i think.

Anyone else happened this to ?

I did try them as my gaming time has been cut short of late, was hoping they would help me get past a stall point etc, they weren't lasting two hours and besides that, you easily lost a good 20 mins between all the loading screens.

The scrolls do NOT run out when logged off, just like Food, the timer stops once you log out. I often wonder what method people use to calculate how long something lasts- do they actually use a clock or stopwatch or do they simply say, "There is no way it's been two hours"... yet, while gaming, hours fly by without notice. I've used a clock and even the character screen to keep check on the XP Scrolls and they do, indeed, last the entire two hours while your character is logged in. However, transit times, sitting at vendors, dye stations, walking, riding, talking to NPCs, the XP Scrolls are ticking away while you are doing all of those... including those little "stuck" times when you're falling through the world.

On console (Xbox one) since released they stop when you log out your character BUT if you don't log out and just close the game, this may cause it to run longer.

Just make sure you're logging out your character and the game vs. quoting the game while logged in.

This applies to PC and consoles but may not be the issue here

I have a chat that is parked for over 20 days whose exp scroll stopped on Xbox.
Are you sure you're logging out and not just exiting?

@ADarklore They apparently do, cause i activated it and had 1 hour 13 min left on it. Login today and it is gone.

So i gues you are lucky, or you are just saying they so not run out because they obviously shouldnt. We all know that. But mine did offline playstation and everything.

I've never had it happen, but I'm on PC. As someone above noted, did you log-out to main screen and then quit or did you just quit from character and not return to log-in screen. It shouldn't make a difference, but perhaps it does. I always try to log-out to character screen just because I am paranoid about the servers saving the current data.

It actually does make a huge difference especially on consoles.
My real life friend Buffaloesoldier usually just turns off his console and doesn't log out.
His character shows in game for 2 mins to 2 hours so if you're not logging out your character first then you're waiting the exp scroll.

I'm not sure of what his console is doing on his end but I see the party indicator or friend online in the friend menu in-game. Just make sure you're logging out.

Not saying there isn't another issue...but saying not logging out is not helping cause the consoles run in standby so on Xbox when you turn it back on the game app is still running and when you go back to the game it then says you were disconnected due to inactivity which means you were online the whole time until the sever kicked you

I've been using them to level a new character on EU PS4 and if you log out they are not running out when offline for me.

I always logout nicely, allthough that should not be a problem if someone does not do it.

No I did not use a stopwatch but activated my scroll the same time as my provision buff, both last two hours however my scroll was gone yet I had 24 mins left on my provision buff?

Do you have any passives into the Provision skill line? There are buffs that extend the duration of any eaten food, etc.

    Confirmed.

I have an on-screen timer at all times (through add-on) and have used like 10 scrolls. None of them have had any funny business.

No not on my NB which is the alt currently using the scrolls, it hasn't happened with every scroll but I have had three that certainly didn't run the full 2 hours.
