My bank has been wiped!!!! [updates]

I logged in just now and where my bank was full (120 cap) is now only 68!!!!! My crafting materials (green, blue, purple AND orange) are gone, all my daedric hearts my dwemer frames. I'm so angry!!!!!!!!! Where are they? That's nearly 50% of my stuff!

Oh my god!!!!!! And my money has gone from 35,000 to 500!!!!!!!!!

Since this hack has happened I have been in touch with Zenimax who has passed me on to Bethesda Softworks and it is now being handled by an investigation team. I will keep this thread updated

I hope the bank bug isn't back.. happened to quite a number of people (including me) on PC a while back.
Basically if you had upgraded your bank capacity to say 120, when you logged in your bank capacity was only like 60 or something.

ZOS did compensate with in game gold though.

Who do I contact where it will be heard and fixed?

I know it's just a game but since my accident I've put so much time and real money into this game, even becoming an eso member, only to have 2 Vet characters worth of stuff disappear over night. This game had my support and was keeping me sane and happy whilst I'm housebound and learning to walk again. I'm genuinely so upset that something like this could even happen.

It seems like only particular items have been taken- cant be sure but targeting dwemer frames and daedric hearts seems a bit too planned and money missing - i don't know how ps logins work but maybe you were hacked.

Sorry to say, this sounds like a simple password "hack", as in someone guessed or somehow retrieved your password.

You clearly were hacked because only your precious stuff is gone.

Hmm, if it was a matter of their account being hacked then stuff would be missing sure but bank storage being set back from 120 to 68? Don't think a person can do that. Sounds more like bug to me.

Changed my PSN, not too sure how to change my eso password though. Tbh, after this experience I'm cancelling my sub and leaving the game. The stuff that went missing was stuff I needed and was using to make things for other people. It wasn't even being used for myself. Despite that I still get hacked or bugged, whatever the case may be. I'm not sure I can enjoy the game again after this ='(

You can change your ESO password via your ESO account
(I think this password is also used for PS4):

In any case, contact ZOS support and report a "hacked account":

Perhaps ZOS can track the incident.
Perhaps others are affected too. The sooner ZOS knows about such things, the better.

Perhaps ZOS even can help you up with some stuff.
Better than losing a desperate customer, I would think.

At PC launch I also lost all of my gold in my bank. Despite ZoS promises to the contrary, I never gold that gold back.

A year and a half later, I still refuse to bank gold for more than 5 minutes (just to swap between characters).

Now that you mention it.. I guess you could be right. Hm, maybe the items are still there, but "hidden" somehow due to the decreased amount of slots? I really hope that's the case.. because then, they could easily be restored again (by the Tech Support).

My capacity is still 120, it just has 68 items in there when it should be full

I went to a blacksmith to see if the items were hidden but no. Apparently it's all gone :'(

One thing to check would be alts/mules, just in-case. Could your crafter be holding items? Is someone carrying them to make space temporarily? (Esp if the bank is usually full.) Have they been listed in any guildstores?

Have you tried a reload/relog/restart? Presumably, but when you open a ticket their copypasta will ask you do that anyway. You also need to assert that the problem was not fixed by their copypasta if you want it to be opened by a person - they appear to be reducing support traffic by having most responses automatic.

Ah. Thought you meant your storage limit was set back. If that's not the case then it may indeed be possible someone did managed to gain access to your account. My condolences, always terrible when things like this happen to someone. I hope customer service can help you get the matter sorted out.

That wouldn't explain why the gold was lost. Gold has no capacity limit AFAIK, at least obtainable limit anyway.

Sounds very much like a hacked account. This happened to me a long time ago in another MMO, all my good stuff was gone, money gone, jewels gone, only potions and vendor junk was left. But that was my own fault because i fell for a phishing scam on the website. I was only 16 and didn't know any better that there was a way for people to identically recreate the site with even the same address, as I proceeded to log in the site - next time i logged in the game it was all empty. But we are talking about 2003, back then the internet security was nonexistant, neither was the enforcement by authorities or companies.

Multiple items are missing, the capacity is still the same. Yeah I tried logging off and on, restarting, checked mules, checked guild banks, checked mail...It's all gone

I've already sent a ticket so I'll be sure to let them know everything I've tried in my next response. I'm feeling a little defeated tbh. I don't even understand how I was hacked. I did nothing different and it's all on console, so I wasn't clicking links etc. I guess people should be aware that this is happening somehow. Perhaps change your passwords to be safe.

Oh man, that's rough.
Hopefully, Zos will be able to sort this out.

However, if you PM me with your in-game ID (there's like 790 Cazzies) I'm happy to mail you 5,000 gold so you have enough to be going on with repairs etc while Zos works on a resolution.

Something is going on as I have a guild mate on PS4 who lost several items including 30,000 Tel Var stones out of his bank overnight.

doesnt the ps4 have an "app" i guess you would call it to where another person can control your character change things for you and everything else. Pretty much a teamviewer. I know others on ps4 in a few other games where this app was used to steal another persons items from them b4 they could stop it. It also works like teamviewer where as when logging into your account all the info is shared with whoever is using the app with you.

Have you ever tried this out?

It's a known bank bug, both for characters & guilds; next PS4 patch around 10/12 should resolve the issue from what a few guildies of mine have found out. Sometimes when I check my bank it's empty, sometimes it only shows a few items, then when I rezone and check everything is where it's suppose to be....same with guild banks. I've found that I'm only able to see bank items only once per zone login. Been a reoccurring issue since DLC launch. Maybe this is what your experiencing.
