ZoS. Do NOT Give In.

BorrawinTheWarrior
Idk if ZoS reads every forum post, and i know sometimes the forums can seem like a dark, cruel place. But if any of you guys are reading this, then you should know that many of us, the players of ESO are cheering you on. Do not get discouraged from the negative feedback. Do not change the great game you guys created because some don't like it. Most of all, don't sell out. I used to play a rather well known MMO, but they changed their game at every cry and pout. Now their game is easy enough for 5 year Olds to play. It became almost a completely different game than when it started.

I know I'm just one small voice that doesn't weigh much in ZoS development.
Do not let this happen to ESO.

Sounds like you've read too many whiny negative posts, but of course they're going to be the more predominant ones sadly. There are a lot of good posts with great ideas out there too.

I honestly wish there was a part of the forum for "Constructive Discussion" only and was heavily moderated due to it being where developers would most likely look for ideas. And if your idea was unsatisfactory, it'd get moved to general discussion! Lol.

Mostly the thing I don't like about ESO is what it lacks... not what it currently does.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

Well I hope they don't get discouraged by what I write. I think the game is amazing with incredible potential, and there are incredible people on the team, it's just that quite often my passion for the game exceeds my patience for the game.

Forum posts break downs can be broken down like this 90 percent whiner, 1 percent spam, and the rest useful and to needing to be paid attention to.

People love to complain and that is why you see so many raw whining topics, and most of them not useful negative feedback either. Just whining

If I didn't like the game or play for 8-10 hours a day I wouldn't waste my time complaing. I guess what I'm trying to say is I Love the game, but you know some things, some choices that ZOS makes just don't make any flapperjacken sense. I know ZOS goes on the reddit sub though and it's like night and day compared to here.

Game is great, communication between ZOS and the community is terrible. If there was no EOS Live I'd probably wonder wtf was going on.

Most people aren't asking for the game to be easier. Complaints about lacking QoL features, aimless development, and bugs/exploits are the most common.

So... people who have legitimate complaints and issues should just be ignored and swept under the rug, am I correct? We should all just be happy about the exploits, glitches, broken mechanics, technical issues and throw money at them and pat them on the back about a job well done?
Sorry but this is business, if you make bad decisions, mess up your product - people are entitled to express displeasure about the product the company tries to sell. It is not charity, we don't pay for "trying hard", we pay for results. Problems and issues often come up in this industry - it is normal, what is not normal is the "release it now, fix it later, or better yet, don't fix it at all" attitude and people that support that and think others should just be silent about it.
It seems to be the latest trend in AAA industry, ESO is not or even close to being the worst.

Yes, there are trolls and people who whine for the sake of whining, but there are also a large number of people with genuine concerns and issues that the company has a responsibility to FIX. And i am not talking about the "Nerf this, Buff that, remove XYZ" but actual problems that are plaguing the game. Companies are already too eager to hush and shush all the issues as it is, lets not make it worse by actually supporting that mentality.

And you seem to forget the major point people complain. They complain because they CARE about the game (again, disregarding trolls and ragequit posts). They provide feedback - be it negative or positive to raise developer's awareness of the growing issue. If there are no people that complain, how will they ever know about the issues? Yeah they do some internal testing, but they cannot collect the same amount of data as all the players on live server, therefore those issues will not appear or may not be so prominent doing internal testing.
But that does not mean they can just ignore it, nor ignore the negative feedback it gets off players, they made a mess, they have to fix it - it's that simple, but the problem is - most of these things have never been fixed since the game was released, nor has there been an ETA on them, which in turn pisses people off and why shouldn't it?

Oh and... simple solution - don't like the negativity - don't read it. I don't particularly like it myself, but I read it so i am up to date with the current affairs, major issues and how the community perceives it.

I love this game, and I love the concept and everything about it, doesn't mean I have to love the glitches and neverending issues, nor do I have to be OK with it and stay quiet about it. Neither does anyone else.

No. There is a distinct difference between expressing your opinion on flaws you find with the game, and blatant trash talk filled with vulgar language and insults. The people I am referring to are the ones who, for example, find a single quest (out of thousands) that has a bug where the NPC doesn't appear immediately. These people then post on the forums saying that this is the worst game ever made. IMO, one flawed quest does not represent the entire game.

If you want you can read my thread on why I quit the game. I'm sorry, but the fact is even if ZoS is listening they aren't working there have been issues with this game from the start and we have never had a stable patch were I can say "The game is good at this point, lots to do and no major issues that are going to ruin it in the next month" That is just sad.

I shan't read your thread that's very existence violates the forum rules regarding, "I quit," threads. Good luck in future endeavors, I hope you find whatever it is you are looking for in a game.

It was just why I lost interest and I didn't even know it was in the rules. Honestly it was just feedback for the devs not a rant thread. To put it simply Grouping, CP, lack of pve content, and just extreme changes in a day. It is not that I am looking for any more than the game and I did enjoy it just not anymore not after IC.

Why would he bother? Plenty of posts about exploits that carried to console from PC PTS. He seems smarter than to give ideas to people waiting to steal it just to advance their own financial gain while those who were on PTS didn't get heard at all. Even then why would he risk his ideas where the attitude is go do something else.. Chase tail or come back to buy our next DLC. How dumb do you think ESO players are..

ZoS can't give in when they don't answer questions we ask (the important ones to us) and joke around on ESO Live where we don't get the in house jokes. We have felt for almost 2 years now (on PC/MAC) they just don't listen to us. So what are they going to give in about?

I can't help but roll my eyes when people say " it's a business,, I have aright for it to be what I expect".
We bought the game for roughly $40. If we buy all the monthly, $30. Not saying it's free., but seriously,, we can drop more than that for dinner and a drink!... MAYBE 3 hours! How many hors of amusement are you getting? I can BET it's more than 3!!
