I just don't understand the crying about CP in regards to PvE. In PvP you can at least make an argument that these players have an unfair advantage, but in PvE you should be able to complete all current content with zero CP. Will it be harder? Of vourse! But why should it be as easy for you as it is for me if I worked hard on getting to where I am. I earned my spot, what makes you think you deserve to be allowed to skip all my hard work? Cap CP usage in PvP but don't touch it with PvE....although I suspect they need the overall caps to be able to balance the content. If I cap CP at 600 I can then tailor the content off of that value...

901 CP and more (how much?)
    Totally agree with monkeymystic

There is one big flaw with this poll:

Console players will not have as much CP as PC players on average, PC has been out much longer with CP being active.

If ZOS is going to cap CP, they have to cap the PC version much higher (or set it high for console as well), because PC players have been able to achieve CP for a lot longer than console players (unless they transferred from pc).

If ZOS caps CP less than 1000 for PC players, they are shooting themselves in the foot, since 1.7 patch and IC made CP progression even faster, and they would lose subs (10% exp become useless etc). Console is still a good amount behind on average.

This poll is useless until it is split into different catagories for PC/console players.

Although I dislike the idea of a cap i'm totally not against it - IF the cap is set around 1k (for PC) AND I am allowed to retain my unusable cp until whatever time they are unlocked.

If Zeni is going to erase my progress completely for any cp over a proposed cap - that will make me very, very angry; i've heard rumors that they haven't decided yet.

Furthermore i'd like all the crown points refunded that I spent on experience scrolls from Zeni if the cap is going to be under 1k (for the PC version), since I sure as hell never would have bought them if I knew there was going to be a cap (and I never would have bought as many xp pots in game either).

Not only is Zeni going to loose money from people cancelling subs on PC (for any cap probably under 2k)..., they will loose money from people not buying experience scrolls - especially if the cap is set too low.

You'll be hearing more from me on this.

OP this is a great poll, thanks.

I'm sitting at 150ish CPs last I paid attention. I have seen people claim 300 CP is the average (and the game can't/shouldn't be balanced around anything lower), and every time I have a hard time believing that number is correct. The reason is there are many more casual and newer players-- who likely have no CPs to maybe 200ish CPs-- than there are people who have had enough time to play to garner 300+ CPs.

I wish Zeni would be transparent about what are the average and mean CPs for the entire playerbase.

CPs make huge a difference in survivability and DPS for both PvE and PvP yet nothing is being done to address the power gap.

Disabling the grass may improve performance.

Calling CP is just a band aid fix. They'll slowly raise the call over time, right? So it'll take a bit longer, but entirely new players will run into the same mammoth grind wall that they would now.

But all PC/Mac users that's been semi-active since CP was introduced, they have way over 300 CP by now, from just playing normally, not grinding an inch or having any longer gaming sessions. We also got 70+ CP for free the day Tamriel Unlimited launched, if we had one character at cap.

So I definitely dont think a cap should be based on "new players" or someone that rarely logs on. That's like taking a big *** in the face on thousands of loyal PC/mac users, that choose to stick with the game and therefore got daily enlightenment.

The catch up system however, should have new players in mind and balance their gaming experience and lack of CP. While the cap really needs to respect everyone that's been playing regularly since CP came out.

Thanks everyone for your votes. The output was enough to make a simple starting conclusion that the gap is around 300 CP when combining just 3 highest peaks. That's simply huge.
