Consoles: Who here wants someone from ZoS to actually respond regarding text chat?

I am not asking if you want text chat, i want to know if you just want some type of response regarding the matter.

Im sure all of us have been dying to know what the latest talk has been about in regards to text chat and would like to hear a response already even if it hasnt been talked about much, we all wanna know why they have the code in consoles, yet have it turned off and why we are constantly ignored

I've all but stopped playing and check the forums from time to time looking for any changes to the game that would bring me back... The console text chat and lack of a yes we will or no we won't basically helped me cancel sub and go idle to see the direction the game and company goes...

I'm getting close to going back to Darksouls 2. I'm waiting on hope but dont think its coming. You cant put trust in a company that does not communicate with its customers.

More like " who wants zos to actually reply to questions directed to them" out of about 50 threads on seperate issues with bugs/glitches/ even general stuff zos will reply to 1 of these threads, I'm not complaining, I just wish zos put a little bit more effort into their forums.

If the console ESO servers are still running a year from now it will have Text Chat....
It might come as an attempt to draw players back to the game after the population crashes. Like "Come back to ESO the next update includes Text Chat", but by then many people will simply NOT CARE!

This game has lost so many people due to not having the one thing that every MMO in history has had..

I understand they thought it would be a "Groundbreaking Idea" to go with voice chat... But not having Text Chat as a toggle on/off option is absolutely the worst idea they could have came up with.

There is no reason on earth why ZOS shouldn't add it as an option for those that want it.

People are indeed leaving over this. I know a few people will stick their head in the sand and scream.."Nah. I do not believe it" but I know for a fact of many people that have stopped playing and not having text chat was in the top 5 reasons!

If I could have text chat back in 2003 on a playstation 2 MMO "Everquest Online Adventures" then we should have it in ESO.. Come on man.

My belief on this is they know if they say no text chat now or ever they risk losing a whole bunch of people who want it. Of course its pointless now as all the people who want it have mostly left already (with their wallets as well ZOS just incase you forgot who pays your wages)

They will add it... It might be a last ditch effort to save this game.. But any MMO without text chat in this day and age will not last!!

ZOS might ride this plane to the damn ground in flames. But this novel idea of "Voice Chat Only" simply isn't going to work. People expect OPTIONS!

And once again those videos were before launch. You know when the vast majority of people hadnt even logged on yet. I bet the number of people who knew there was no text chat was tiny. I didnt know and I do a ton of research into any new MMO I buy. Didnt see the text chat bit once. Didnt think to find out either. Mainly because it never even occurred to me a company would be stupid enough to not put it in.

Live and learn I guess.

I vote no always because its not needed its only wanted by some and in context to this thread...the responses have already been provided.

-Oddly enough me and a few others who also don't feel its needed often try to participate openly in discussions with those who do want it. Just because someone disagrees with any idea doesn't and shouldn't conclude that they would need to go hide, quit, etc. if their opinion isn't accepted.

Its a part of growing up.
ZOS is doing what they want...some things I agree with while a few others I passionately disagree with and let it be known.
This is just a topic where people seem to have nostalgic or traditional views about the game and for whatever reason cannot or will not learn to play any other way.

If its added....then its added no pain for me.
You also have to realize in the larger thread I just posted that text chat was added to the xbox one party chat interface which supports up to 12 members.

PS4 added a community too so whats happening is the console developers are providing resolutions to games.

I really think on this topic the pressure needs to go to the console devs instead of this dev because in the examples those who are fore the feature...when listing...there are also games that they mention need it added.

Its way bigger than what i want...and as such whatever happens happens.
its just a discussion....right?

Yes, I want text chat as much as most people.

Do I think it will happen? Nope

What I would like is for them to fix the group finder and/or make some incentive to use it. It just needs to work when you queue.

The new Ps4 community feature is great, if you join a good trading community it's like having text chat. At least Sony know that people can type on their consoles without any problems...

We do not need Text chat.

The more I play this game on the console the less I need text chat. I have completely bought into no text chat. I have had no issues getting groups or selling or doing anything else.

Please work on content and bug fixes.

If you've not participated or watch ESO live episodes in the past you would want to rewind back to understand and follow the segment. 5 minutes isn't enough to gather what ZOS is attempting to share. 30 minutes for each is more appropriate as their team isn't great with effective communication.

This. With the amount of people that spam voicechat with screaming and music on console, each and every second I spend in Area Chat screams at me saying that Text Chat would be the worst thing ever.

Worse even than the DK Talons Nerf.

Just listened to ESO live 6-4-15 from 50:00 to 60:00 and they talked about voice chat for 10 minutes. Are you sure you're giving the right time stamps?

The loud screaming kids does happen and there are other people that are not appropriate but really a quick chat volume or just moving serves the purpose to continue on without issue

The last response we (as a community) received about text chat on consoles was from a month ago during an ESO Live episode. During a Q&A segment where they were asking for questions, the stream's text chat (how's that for irony) was flooded with requests about text chat for consoles and an admin informed us in the chat that ZOS has nothing further to say about this issue at this time so please stop asking. Given that they wanted the chat spam to stop this is about as close as you can get to an official 'no comment'.

For reference, NBS is using dated information that he still feels is 100% accurate, which may or may not be true at this time. Since release ZOS has not officially responded to any questions regarding text chat on consoles. Honestly though, has ZOS ever admitted to making a mistake with ESO or apologized for anything? Don't hold your breath, and if we're lucky we may get a press release when they finally decide to add it but they will probably say nothing about it until that time.
