Can't get over a mistake I made ingame (Crime Pays)

I know this sounds ridiculous but I am really bothered by this and need help coping or getting over it...

I have an addon that marks destinations for achievements in my game. One of them is for Crime Pays/Give to the Poor. I ran into a Khajit npc, a merchant, standing where the marker was. He was kind to me, offering to trade with me, bubbly and happy, and I went through the dialogue options quickly without realizing what they were going to do, and it was basically me intimidating him into being robbed by me.

The Khajit said something along the lines of "mother always told me I was weak as a kitten," and he slowly opened his backpack, put it on the ground in front of him, and sat down, completely dejected.

I felt horrendous. I did not loot his bag, and I waited to see if he would disappear, while feeling heartbroken for what I had done to the Khajit who had been nothing but kind to me. I logged out, and when I logged back in he had despawned, and my achievement did not have a completion marked, so all is forgiven right?

And yet, all I can remember is his face and how I hurt him. I can't seem to get over it. I know it's not a real person but I am hurting about this. This isn't the way I am or my Khajit is.

Thanks for any advice.

I did the crime pays achievement once and only once, I just felt too bad robbing those people. Now if I see those merchants, I just trade with them.

Some things you just cant unsee...

You can try and make ammends though. Seek out the needy and beggars to help them out. Give to the poor is nice achievement

While I am not trying to minimize your predicament, just put it off to game mechanics. Sadly you are only offered bad choices in some cases. My character Krist is lawful and good, so I have to accept that parts like that are just mechanics, not to be confused with my character. I always try and choose the best choice, but as you did, found myself choosing wrong because I was trying to hurry past something.
I wanted to raise my skill in legerdemain and so I stole twice...but had to stop. I could not do it to my character. I have no problems with the stealing, as I have characters that are not bound by Krist's codes.
In the end, you actually reset and did not commit the act, neither did your character. You got a second chance. When you dont, then say ESO made you do it!
