DLC Motifs

Arcaver

If I bought the DLC bundle, why do I need 5000 crowns to get the Glass Motif? It was supposed to be on the bundle I purchased, wasn't it? Also, why can't I access the other styles without doing PvP? I don't know how the PvP works in the game, and honestly, I'm not really all that interested in it. So again, if I purchased the bundle, I should have access to the styles like I do the imperial style when I purchased that one. If I would've known I can't access the styles without doing 5000 crowns and doing PvP, I wouldn't have purchased the DLC.

I am unaware of a bundle that includes the DLC as I bought the DLC itself from the Crown Store. If there is such a bundle though it must be pricy since the Glass Motif alone is 5000 crowns lol (at least for PS4)

    LOL.... no you shouldn't.

You can get the motif by playing the DLC. Have at it.

Uh sorry not to sound rude but why care ? It's not like Xyvkin or Glass gives better stats than nord or altmer style armor so why bother with them to begin with?

Not rude, I just like the styles. I think the Xivkyn style is awesome! Here's the issue with the post that lists it all out, it doesn't say that you have to find it or buy the Motifs, it says it's in the bundle. A little misleading of we can't at least convert our stuff to it.

You can play and find it or spend your money and buy the whole book.

Your choice, it is included, it's just not given to you.

I think you misinterpreted something. The only way to get the Xivkyn motif is to buy the Imperial City DLC and find the motif chapters in the City (or trade with someone who has done). The Glass motif was added to the base game with the Update 7 base-game patch, which was free for everyone. You don't need the DLC to get Glass, and like all other base-game motifs, Glass is now available in the Crown Store.

The posts etc also all mention things like 23 new sets, tel var stones, new achievements etc etc etc.

Did you expect everything to be just sat there in your account after logging in?

The original motif's etc all had to be found/bought/worked for..... this is no different.

The post says it's in the DLC... just as it says the new sets etc are. Not that you log in and everything is there in your inventory... or else why would there be new content to play?

It is worth the effort though... I just made some Xivkyn V16 stuff... looks really nice.... and the price is plummeting if you just want to buy it for in-game gold rather than play for it.

I believe he mentioned that he bought the Imperial Edition which came with the Imperial style.
He didn't have to find it, just log in and start crafting in the Imperial style.

So when he buys the DLC, which comes with a new style, why would he NOT "expect everything to be just sat there in your account after logging in?"

But where would be the fun in that?

    1. Glass motif is part of the base game. No DLC Purchase necessary.
    2. Xivkyn can be purchased from other players. No DLC Purchase necessary.

Getting the motifs is part of gameplay.

I guess it could be confusing for some. However Imperial edition was an outright "special edition," of the base game, so it had perks such as crafting the imperial style and using the imperial race. The cost of it was a good deal more for these bonuses. This was just a common expansion set, there were no special editions of the expansion, offering perks such as the new motif's immediately and everyone paid the same flat rate.

As a matter of fact, the Imperial Edition didn't come with the Imperial style. It came with Imperials who know their own style natively, as every other race. But if you create e.g. a Redguard with the Imperial Edition, you're out of luck. You need to loot or buy the motif like everyone else. The best you can do is convert gear to Imperial, but it binds the items to your account, so you couldn't make money this way back when people were still willing to pay to have something crafted.

Moreover, the Glass motif isn't part of the DLC. It was added in a patch to the base game. Even if it was included in the DLC, you aren't entitled to it without actually earning it in the game. Same as with every other reward: new gear, mats etc.

It's what customers want. Plus styles have achievements associated with them and no one is satsified with being a second class crafter.
