Champion Point Cap - how much CP do you have now? (September/October 2015)

I have a mere 25 CP hitting 50 not so long ago. I've just returned to the game and am enjoying myself immensely. As a casual player, I really don't have a problem with the system as it is right now. I've always have been a fan of alternative advancement systems ala EQ. I love long term goals. I've never gone grinding...for now with my main character, I'm progressing through every Cadwell quest and working on my achievements (I love my dyes!). If I see a fishing pool, I fish. I have a personal quota of catching two rares/ day working on my overall achievement slowly but surely. I'm really in no rush. I've always have played MMOs completely through once...trying to see everything with one character. Once I finish my main character, I may look to grind a bit with my other characters to make things go a tad bit faster. Although the vet levels do seem a bit slow this way, I like the rate of CP point accumulations. I may average one to two a day, sometimes less. It gives me a longer term goal and some of the skills look quite interesting. I'm also happy that these points are spread to your other characters. When I do play my alts, they will have an advantage.

It doesn't bother me if other have hundreds if not thousands of points over me. Sure, they may vastly outperform me but they've worked towards that goal. Some have been loyal players since beta and kudos to them. As an MMO tourist like myself, I'm happy that there are long term supporters of this game. I think the devs should think very carefully about the adjustments to this system. It has the potential to make a number of long term, loyal players very unhappy---especially if you remove or cap those points already earned or take them away totally. Part of the fun in an MMO, at least for me, is being able to continuously improve your character.

Just passed 500. Don't really grind much unless I miss playing a bunch of days then will grind my enlightenment. Play pretty much every day and usually get 2 cp a day. When I grind a new to on can get over 20 cp a day though.

I do not like grinding for Champion Points.

Even though I have been here since beta I haven't amassed that many. I like doing achievements and some of them do not involve killing.

Great poll F7, interesting results. Played since launch and have 270cp. As you will know I play pretty casually, work has to come first, but I prefer to pvp and before IC it was hard to earn cp through pvp alone. Just before IC dropped I had 220cp, so since that patch I have earned 50cp and this is thanks to all the mobs in IC and the need to grind them for new sets.

There is one big flaw with this poll:

Console players will not have as much CP as PC players on average, PC has been out much longer with CP being active.

If ZOS is going to cap CP, they have to cap the PC version much higher (or set it high for console as well), because PC players have been able to achieve CP for a lot longer than console players (unless they transferred from pc).

If ZOS caps CP less than 1000 for PC players, they are shooting themselves in the foot, since 1.7 patch and IC made CP progression even faster, and they would lose subs (10% exp become useless etc). Console is still a good amount behind on average.

Keep in mind this thread is going to be bias, since a large portion of the more casual players that have low CP either never had a forum account or visit very rarely.

Still interested to see how this shapes up!

110 or so at this time. Unless I need to get a vet char to a specific level, I'll stick to 1 CP/day on average.

    Also
There is one big flaw with this poll:

Console players will not have as much CP as PC players on average, PC has been out much longer with CP being active..

Best way would be to ask ZoS to show us the actual numbers per platform, instead of a "X players have over Y CPs at this time".

303 champion points here, playing since shortly after launch, playing almost every day, but playing casually, no hardcore grinding ever... usually gain one per day, sometimes two...
If ZOS caps CP less than 1000 for PC players, they are shooting themselves in the foot, since 1.7 patch and IC made CP progression even faster, and they would lose subs (10% exp become useless etc). Console is still a good amount behind on average.
Actually... a lot of the vexation is present on PC as well, of players who aren't spending many hours each day grinding out c-points, and then feel like they will never be able to catch up...
These players -are- the majority, regardless of platform. Even if they may be even more of a majority on console...

Though I am wondering if maybe it wouldn't be a much better idea to forget caps and instead add catchup mechanics for low cp players, and slowdown mechanics for high cp players...
Imean, if, say, people from 0-300 cp got quadruple enlightment, and those from 301-600 double, while those from 601-900 as usual, and those from 901-1200 get no enlightment at all while those 1201 and above even earn c-points at only half rate... and then every three months they raise those numbers with the newest DLC...

And maybe then they could later expand the champion system, with some sort of "sub-stars" to spend points on for more specific boni, but with an "pick one" mechanic, to diversify the champion sysstem somewhat for people who reach the high c-point values... I mean, there are "group bonus" stars, like "add to all elemental damage", they could add three "fire-ice-shock" sub-stars to that, unlocked when you put, say, 50 points in the main star, and you can only piuck one of them... or they could add options to incurese some of the "total amount spent in constellation" passives effectiveness, to make the system soak up ever more c-points... stuff like that...

If this poll is even remotely close to the real percentages I would say a cap of 600 cp would be good to start. A character is still pretty darn powerful at 600 cp. For those who say there is no incentive to play if you are way above this, I'd say that if all you are doing is grinding CP you're not really playing anyways.

I could care less how many points other players have, and I don't mean that in a nasty way. I just don't care.

I've been playing since June and got one character to level 45 today (I have 7 alts), getting ready to go into Cold Harbour and all that stuff. I play anywhere from 3-7 hours per day (I'm retired). You're going to say I should be higher level, but I walk everywhere. Riding on a horse and rushing from point A to point B doesn't interest me. I'm on easy road lol. I've found lots of chests (I average around 4-5 each day) and other stuff, and do a lot of exploring along the way.

I'm playing to have fun, which I have. So, to me it doesn't matter how high the cap is. Unless they stop raising it at some time, I doubt I'll get close to it, but it's something to shoot for. And, of course, they have to keep adding new content because I'm not playing forever in the areas that are here now.

Is there a projected date when they're changing all this? Is that doing away with the VR ranks? So, will it be 1-50 and then champion points, or will we start with one CP and then level up from there?

    Thanks.

By simply comparing the CP of PC players to those of Console players we can see how big the gap is. There's also of course CP gaps that exist within only PC/Console players. If a CP cap is going to be made there either needs to be 2 separate caps, 1 for each platform (grouping PS4 with Xb1) or 1 cap that's big enough to allow PC players to keep that sense of progress they've achieved.

It would be stupid to cap CP at something like 300 when the average player on PC is probably around 350-400 atm. That would mean that by the time the Cap is implemented and the average is over 300, PC has lost all that progress they've made so that ZOS could appease console players who's average player may be barely hitting that number.

I see you're point and agree pc / console players have different servers, however consoles have PC transfers, already they've cornered thr trading market and pvp so console cp should be at a lower cap than PC.

I'm not saying your wrong nor am I disagreeing with you but you are the minority. This game will loose more subs over time if they don't put a cap in place then if they shun the top of the player base. This game is probably being kept alive by the casual console gamer(not saying all are casual).
