Do you understand how they work? And you forgot to mention Molten armor another DK Shield-ish...

Albeit the Sorc shield is better "for self" than igneous shield, sorc's have their own problems where dk's don't IE a Dps skill line worth a damn.

Also Your class shield isn't all you have, bone shield and annulment are great options.

The game imo is quite balanced right now, i feel like your post just stems from Hardened ward envy but i think the root of the issue is that you are not using the tool you have properly.

I'm guessing you mean magma armor? That's an ultimate so not sure that should be under the same category but that's just me.

Dont use GDB use coagulating blood (i believe it gives +8% to healing & % health regen + a small heal)

Add a few points into healing in your CP tree

Spam rally and keep vigor up at all times.

I prefer hardened armor but you could use igneous shield for the +30% healing.

Your health stays pretty full unless zerged, no damage shield needed.

If need be I can post pictures of e highest shield buff a DK can stack, to the eye it's barely 10%

Shields values are cut in half, and some people are still hitting for 1.6 damage levels like 20 WBs/Frags. Game is kinda crazy right now.

You people fail to realize that along with heals and shields damage done was also cut in half. Everything is pretty much the same as it was before the IC patch but it's now toned down to prolong battles. Overall, there was no crippling nerf to DKs. If you're still getting outdamaged then obviously someone broke the game itself.

Burning embers/Stone fist/Deep breath/Coagulating blood.
In conjuction with Igneous shield + a nice chunk of cp in Healing.
Have you any idea how much heal you can get from this all ?
In IC sewer I can take like ten mobs at the same time on my own with my health barely moving while perma blocking in light armor.
Now come tell me DK are in bad shape ...

They have hardened ward. Other shields they use are weapon/armour skills.

It's not about the amount of shields, it's about the quality. The -50% nerf makes all shields scaling of health(Sun, Obsidian and Bone Shield) more or less useless for individual purposes. For sure there's still group utility/buff in Bone shield and Igneous Shield, but as a basic shield for a solo player it's so weak it's worthless. This because max health builds serves no purpose in PvP, where you either stack main magicka or stamina to be effective.

Sorcerer Hardened Ward is still really strong, even with the 50% reduction, since it scales of max magicka.

This is why when I run groups I am the only DK, no reason to have more than one. And I am just a target icon for others to follow. Nothing more than a few blockable Talons and some Cinder Storm.
