Just returning thinking of starting Medium Tank

I was wondering what's the best way to proceed with a medium armour wearing tank? I've used heavy armour and light armour for other characters before but I want a fresh start and this has me interested. What's the best way to go about it? I'm not sure on what race atm but I was thinking of DK or Templar with sword and shield, with perhaps two pieces of heavy and the rest medium?

Medium armor is really geared for DPS builds. You might have trouble tanking without heavy. You could walk the line with a combo of medium and heavy, but you'll be the jack of trades but master of none.

I was thinking about it cause I read tanks may have some issues with stamina now and medium armour has some pretty decent stamina buffs plus it can help with tank dps to.

if you want to experiment with medium, I highly recommend you use at least one heavy and one light for Undaunted passive benefits

The issue u will have ill not be stam but mitigation on physical hits, u just wont get enough armour if ur stam is depleted to survive. As orhers have daid try 5h 2 m

You can definitely do this now. Stack all the armor and health you can get, run two medium pieces. Alternatively, you can run the Spectre's Eye set which gives armor, magic, and dodge when you cast a spell.

The only benefit from medium armor for a tank I think is reducing roll dodge cost, so if you are going to run from bosses in circles and dodge all attacks, maybe it will work

If you are going to try make sure you keep Major Evasion up at all times.

You can tank in full medium go reinforced and armor rating buff for medium with CP use the
Armor Master set 5/5 5120 armor and spell resistance when you use armor powers and yes it stacks with immovable
•Shield and four Armor

Way of Air 3/5 for more regen
•three armor

Blessing of Potentates 2/3 more regen for stamina
•Sword and Neck

Unassailable 2/5 health
•rings

That's the most liking chance of tanking with full medium off the top of my head. You can craft that Armor Master in two heavy if you want for more defensive power.

It's very possible, hell you can tank in Light Armor as a DK and do just fine in end game content, you'll also be able to put out decent DPS with your DoTs. It's not hard to hit the mitigation cap in Light Armor, or Medium, just have to spec for it.
