We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

ZoS, This Is What I Really Want To See You Do (Maybe I Am Not Alone?)

Dear ZoS,

Could you please start doing this....... maybe showing people that you actually care about the integrity of your game MORE than the integrity of the forums (since you ban more people on the forums than you do in the game) would help ESO a lot......

I really want to see and hear about people getting punished so more people decide to not cheat anymore. There needs to be a reason to make people question cheating. If you announcing bans and what they were banned for (you can keep names out of it or make a list doesnt matter) helps reduce the amount of rampant and obvious cheaters in the game, then by all means DO IT!

Then everyone who was using coldfire siege on consoles pre IC should be banned. Make a game without mistakes and this shouldn't be a problem. AKA listen to your testers who identify these exploits and fix them the next day. I dont see why a player should be punished for a failure on the part of the company.

Looks like there is some sort of exploit with imgur going around so malwarebytes antimalware has done a blanket block on all imgur links to protect it's users...
Someone with bad intentions exploited a previously unknown security flaw (a zero-day exploit) in imgur in order to deploy a botnet which DDoS'd 8chan (and possibly may do some more nasty things). As a result, malwarebytes blacklisted imgur. Imgur claims that it is fixed, but malwarebytes still did not lifted the ban because it doesn't seems safe yet.

Something like what you are describing cant be helped, thats the fault of the company not the players using the weapons. ZoS could of easily disabled them via a hotfix until it was corrected. Other exploits that you have to do things in certain orders or walk this way or jump like that, or cancel this move into that while crouching.....things of that nature is what I am talking about

Its all the same thing. Using an exploit to gain an unfair advantage. Now if someone was using third party software to execute the exploit that is a different story.

Looks like the exploit uses flash and javascript within imgur links to act as a ddos ping from browser without the knowledge of the user effectively turning your own computer into a ddos attacker. It could also do other nasty things, I always have flash uninstalled/disabled and uninstalled javascript since most viruses and malware come through java based software so luckily I am not effected anyway.

But yeah if malwarebytes are blocking all imgur domains/IP's then it's reason enough not to use imgur or their links until they make an announcement they have fixed the zero day exploit and it's safe again to use.

I would also stay away from reddit until this is fixed since reddit has a crap ton of things from imgur.

@Stravokov they did it in 2 patches, one to hinder the exploit until the official fix was released.....then they communicated the course of actions that has happened as a result of the exploit being discovered...... the entire process was 2 weeks.... thousands of people banned, most of whom didnt think blizzard would actually do anything....... a few were highly renowned streamers that blizz was sad to see go the way of cheaters.....

Would stop exploiters such as the latest beast trap exploiters and maybe have some real players in PvP for once instead of them..... and WB spammers.

But still it's not that they don't care it's that they need proof of the exploiters and all that cause they can't exactly ban some one from the game on hunches and a other players word. That's the giant flaw of banning players is that they need proof first such as screen shots or videos.

@Forestd16b14_ESO agree 90%!!!! as for the WB spammers.... terrabads will be terrabads, nothing we can do about it. Those people will still spam WB while others Spam Steel tornado..... but lets not get off topic :P I would really REALLY like to see @zos start taking this seriously instead of hiding behind their ToS and stopping people from calling out the exploiters and cheaters.

This logic has created a haven for them. It is time that haven was no more. It is clear that reporting people isnt working especially when you know they are exploiting hard core. Obviously cant go into details on that but you get what I am saying.

the forum mods are pretty open about removing posts etc, what is and isn't allowed if you make a mistake. The same cannot really be said for the game.Short of using 3rd party software.

I have never been told I can't do anything in game, in fact often I see some iteration of "play however you like" slogan banded around. If this is not true they need to tell people before throwing down an in game perma-ban hammer. Some console kiddies are too Naive to realise what they do is not intended/exploitation, and not everyone is on the forums. Where as other might use every single exploit they can find.

You cant have a blanket system to tackle the difference and hand out Perma-Bans, when ZOS dont even have the support staff/man power in place to handle peoples questions without sending out a generic response before actually addressing a ticket.
I doubt they even have the communication architecture in place to give warnings prior to taking action on console. i mean least on pc a [Z] could talk in game chat to a "perp" what are they going to do for console hope they have area chat active and publicly call them out in front of everyone? for what may be an innocent mistake?

Banning is not a good solution. There are very few cases where a player should be permanently banned from the game. When people complain about another user exploiting or whatnot, the issue can be solved by a small suspension. Let's be honest, most of the exploits players openly use are not bannable because their impact is minor.

to comment on the edited part you added: I, personally, have sent countless videos to the devs showing exploits in action...... those people still roam the world today sooooooo........ : )

@s7732425ub17_ESO correct, BUT if they are going to enforce very asinine forum rules and ban people for the simplest of things just because it goes against the ToS and forum conduct then they need to stay consistent and do the same for in game issues..... abusing a bug to gain advantage no matter how small the advantage is still considered exploiting. Hence everytime someone knowingly does it they are violating the very thing they agreed to which was to not abuse bugs (long story short lololol)

    LOL.

    Never gonna happen.

They don't fix exploits in a timely manner, and I question whether they ban anyone. I am not sure why, but it seems like they don't care or want to study the exploit for a few months, or maybe they just can't find the energy to do anything about it.

The staff does not have to be super big to punish people for abusing bugs...... lots of smaller game companies are constantly banning people for abusing things. Size is no excuse(there is a pun here I am sure lololol)!
