good luck to everyone trying to get to vet ranks and doing the cold harbor quest where you have to rotate crystals to solve a puzzle. those beams are missing and wont be patched in for a month.

I just recently completed this quest. What I did to complete it was after clicking on a crystal move to the other side and click that crystal and by the time you get back to the first crystal it's already in position. I'm not sure if they changed it to where it automatically keeps turning until it hits the light but that's how I completed it.

Are the beams actually missing now? The last I heard on this quest was that the rotation was badly delayed so that you had to rotate, wait 30 seconds or so, and then rotate again, and repeat that until the beams went where they should. Rotating multiple times would queue up multiple rotations, so you would think that the beam was pointed at the right spot, but once you moved on to the next one the previous one would continue rotating.

So just to confirm, that's not what you're seeing now? The beams are simply gone instead?

i completed it using a back first approach and using the sounds to tell if the beam hit.

yes the beams are missing (on console)

Such things happen when DLC release dates become more important than quality assurance.
Update 7 is such mess on PS4, I wonder how it could pass ZOS' PLUS Sonys certifications.

Once again, ESO sets new records.

Before update 7, there was is NO other game on PS4 with such gameplay value.
After update 7, there is NO other game on PS4 with such game breaking bugs.

Gina said they fixed beams but the patch has to go through certification process and is expected in mid OCT maybe?

Oh, I see... Apparently there's a bug on console right now where all beams are missing (including the beam from radiant destruction, etc) and that's affecting this. That kind of sucks for you console folks. :/

I just did this quest last night on XB1 and yes, the beams are missing. I just kept rotating the stones until the next stone lit up. I was successful, it just took a little while.

i got stuck myself, if you go to a birds eye view, you can see where they are aiming.

What about when the daedric brazier in the library quest was bugged? Remember when you had to jump to your death to reach one of them? Everyone was naked to prevent gear decay.

Sorry but not missing, I was thinking same thing but if you look closer you can see a point on the the side of the crystals that shows a slight beam.

The beams may be missing but the direction the beams are aimed at is not. Look closely at the crystal you are rotated and you'll see a nub sticking out one end (kind of looks like its nose). The direction that little nub is facing is the direction the beam is aimed. Simply align the nub to the next crystal and voila! It is true though: there is animation delay. I find if you rotate the crystal and then back away from it for a few seconds it updates the animation to the direction it is now facing.

I did this too... it took about 45 minutes. I think the first stone has a timer on it so the lights turn off after a few seconds. So, after rotating a stone, I had to go back to the 1st stone and rotate it 4 times to get the lights to turn back on for a few seconds. There was a lot of running back and forth, but it was not random... it just took time. It would have been easier if the beams were visible.

I did mine in less than 5 min, is this a xbox one problem as i'm on ps4 and only had no full beam just a beam pointer if looking closer. I had no timer.
