Should Champion Rank Be Displayed in the UI?

The only thing that should show is what Alliance you belong too and your name, I don't even like that your vet rank/non vet rank shows.

    very much indeed !
I would also prefer that minimum, and then it would be nice IMO that the player has the possibilitty to show the title, like now, and perhaps more.

I say yes for one reason, it would dispel a lot baloney about how many CP players think other players have.

Oh man he only has 100 CP and he beat me! lmao

That statistic information can also come from ZOS in a graph during one of their sessions.

They already show VR and pvp rank. Why not champion points?
Because while CPs were meant to replace the champion system, they were never meant to serve as "new levels" for the player.
    Veteran Ranks=vertical progression
    Champion Points=horizontal progression

By definition, champion points do not operate in the same way as VR ranks do. Depending on how they are spent, more does necessarily not equate to better.

Problem is they have come out and stated the highest level a couple of times but of course the threads continue.

If you are killed by someone with more CP you will QQ because he has more CP. If you are killed by someone with less CP, you will cry because he has a imbalanced class/ability/gear. This is just another reason to cry for.

I get enough random messages of people crying and offering me 1v1's already, really don't need more messages with 'you only beat me because of the 20 more cp you have'.

    Yes.
It is like knowing if the person you are fighting is level 15 or VR15 - it makes a huge difference.
However if this is too difficult, then provide 0 CP campaigns for both pre-VR and VR.

It's really pointless to show your Level/Vet Rank in Cyrodiil anyway, as everyone is battle-levelled to VR14. It would make more sense to just show your Alliance Rank.

I would love to see the CP rank of people in PvP and PvE.

In console PvP, everyone denies being a PC transfer with 500 champion points, mostly because you're a *** if you transfer to destroy new players who probably haven't even played an MMO. Would love to have an objective measure. Plus, you can justify being hit with a 14k Crystal Frag post-update.

In PvE, it would give a good indication of that player's experience. Helps in selecting people for groups. Nothing worse than having a person who is either bad or has no idea what to do.

CP isn't really objective in the same way as levels are; it's much more subjective due to how many different things you can put the points into. If someone puts 50 CPs into certain places, they may be much more efficient than someone who put 150 CPs into other places, so showing CPs would be pointless.

Of course no, too much whining already. Dont give them excuse to whine more. Maybe then when we have catch-up system so seeing others CPs should encourage people to grind CPs. Like what Ive said earlier there should be Leaderboard for CPs, so people get encouraged to grind CPs, also top Leaderboard guys should get reward just like they do in Cyrodi.

People saying no because CP scape goat, because high CP = experience to some extent and at the very least probably top notch gear. i say dying to a non CP stacked player would be good to see, give some people with L2P issues some perspective. But only if it was just on the death screen, not visible all the time to everyone. just in pvp when you died and who killed you.

but im still im a "no". People will scape goat classes or anything other than just accept they may have been beaten because they got out played

I don't worry about PvE exclusion because I am part of a great guild that helps new players and doesn't judge people. Like someone else said, if elitists are going to be snobby about CP, then I don't want to play with them.

What I do want to know, is if that person that killed me had 100 or 1500 CP. It really does make a lot of difference. Arguably, it's a greater difference than V1 vs V14, and that is displayed for everyone to see.

If people with 500+ CP consistently show up in my recap, then maybe we can put to rest this debate about whether it's all skill or if it's just the amount of time people are willing to grind goblins in CWC.

I'd hate to have someone think "Ohh, that guy beat me because he has 3 more CPs than me" instead of "Damn, that dude with those mad skillz rekt me". CP stats should remain private

Not in general. I'd be fine with the death recap.
The main problem with showing CP is that groups will start to lfm with a minimum #Cpoints.

I think the risk of exposing people's low CP through death recaps is basically zero. Low CP players wont be remembered and discussed cross alliances. High CP players won't have a problems finding groups.

It is already pretty hard to integrate newer players (say playing 1-3 months, even non-casual) into high end pvp groups and v16 IC set farming in tower/prison. New players have to learn a lot, somehow get proper equip to farm the high-end stuff and finally have to compensate for a lack of CP (and the difference bewteen ~80-90 (with enlightment @V16) and 200 is HUGE).
And this is from my experience from playing with people who newly joined our guild and who were thouroughtly supported by our great officers (advice and gear). I can barely imagine how hard all that "super easy, non challenging" content must feel for really new players.

If anything those people's life has to be made easier, not harded, if ESO wants to stay relevant in the longterm. PS: CP catchup mechanics will help that, but inclusion in social endgame content is far more improtant if you ask me.
