Personally I'd like to know if the person who killed me has 1000 or 100 CP.

It matters.

If your killer has more CP than you would that make you feel better about your demise? You may as well ask players to list all their experience they have in playing MMO's and wear it around their neck for all to see. I'm a good player and when I get killed I know I have been beaten by a better, more experienced player than me. I don't need to see his/her credentials to know that.

I'm undecided. It would be interessting to see how many CP other players have, but I fear that people could get kicked from groups because they don't have enough CP, which would be bad.

I don't see any positives to this and only negatives.

It would simply give players more to whine about

While it might seem a nice idea to be sure that the guy that just beat you (and his 4 friends) had three times your CP I dont think it will do the game any good.
The consequences of such an option would probably be:

    1. Avoiding high CP players.
    2. Cherry-picking low CP players.
    3. An unhealthy amount of blame shifted towards CP disadvantages.
    4. In PvE land seclusion from groups based on CP.

While I agree that CP provide a quite substential advantage in combat, I also believe that that advantage can be bridged by personal player skill in most scenarios, especially when the difference is a "small" one of only 100 CP or so. With your opponents CP number readily available to you you are more likely to blame your numerical diadvantage for your losses, instead of actually trying to improve your own playstyle.

Note: I say this as someone who loves competetive duelling and prefers a somewhat even playing field with his opponents, however I also like a challenge. For example I fought several duels against an opponent with over 1k CP, while I myself only had ~310. I lost about 4 fights, but also managed to win one. Maybe that one win was due to luck on my part, and I am 100% sure that with an equal CP count these fights would have gone fundamentally different, BUT I dont think many people will keep trying to beat the odds, if the CP count is readily available and that is what I think is one of the most important aspect of improving.

Yes, if ZOS displays VR ranks then they should display CP ranks as well. And what are they going to do after VR is removed? Battle level everyone to seasonally adjust CP levels? The whole concept of knowing who you're fighting (including if they're a vampire or werewolf) is somewhat bogus in my opinion but if they're going to do it then do it for everything.

Remove AR and VR, IMO the only thing that should be shown is if the player that killed you is Emp.

it wont happen.... Useful and important statistics like these will never be displayed, as they would provide far too much insight into the obvious imbalances in the system.

I get the distinct impression that ZOS has no idea how to pursue an endgame strategy or balance this game.

It doesn't matter as much as you'd think. Displaying or not, either way the Champion System is currently a scapegoat that a lot of people will blame if they're having a bad time in PvP.

No on the numbers, yes on an optional badge to indicate a CP rank range.

But there are several reasons. Privacy is one. Fear of group exclusion being one of them. Undue importance to CPs being another.

CPs are not like levels or gear. They are not tiered one above the other like vertical progression where each increase gives a conceivable scope by which you can measure strength. Given the multiple trees and the various methods in which the points can be spent, CPs are simply not a reliable measure of strength unless you know for certain which perks and in which constellation they are investing on.
A person with 100CP may be better equipped than a person with 300CPs simply because he knew which places were the most ideal to spend the points in the question.

Nah, it wouldn't stop the complaints. It would just change them to different complaints. Net effect zero, thus not worth ZOS spending time on.

    And what is next?

that the amount of hours played is also public in the UI?

"I still do not understand why I followed the advice of Captain Rana to bring the villagers of Bleakrock into safety. We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. If someone wants to exclude me for having low CP awesome. IMO I don;t want to play with that person in the first place. Others may want to impress him/her but personally I value more reasonable players who understand the value of letting someone learn. I've run with the "speedrun only" elitist crowd and honestly I'd rather play solo. Now give me a good group that can offer advice as to how to improve and not ridicule and I'm down for that all day. Those elitists I do enjoy because they take the time to make others better players. Kudos to people like that
