Melee weapon magika user?

Are there any viable DPS builds for magika users that can use melee weapons? Maybe like a magika DK using molten weapons and 2H or DW. I am just sick of using staves and most class skills are magika based so I feel forced into magika unless I just want to use weapon skills.

I run a dual wield magicka NB. I've seen other do it as well, you don't really use weapon skills but you can put Nirnhoned and poison on the blades to give yourself a little extra boost in damage. Plus mixing in light attacks helps build ultimate I can get mine to fire pretty much every mob combat, sometimes twice. More on boss fights.

Dual Wield with the right weapons will increase you spell damage by a good amount

2H I read on forum earlier that if you has a certain amount of spell power you should use a 2h weapon

Sword n shield great for keeping your defenses up using a little stamina to block a heavy hitting attack (save me more times than I can count)

Thanks for the info. It would be awesome if they added a morph to skills that allowed you to pick stamina or magika to use those skills, maybe not all but some, or maybe a mage guild skill that enchants your sword with magika causing magic damage. I actually think I like that one better.

Dual wield cause some reason it gives more spell power than a actual magical staff.... I would question the logic behind that but it's magic and magic don't gotta explain [other word for dung].

I duel wield swords on my Magika NB. It increases spell dmg by a good amount and I use disease enchantments and weave my concealed weapon with medium attacks so it applies the disease sometimes. I got all the passives in DW that increase basic attacks to add a bit into my weave dmg and it works great. Definitely a boost compared to just concealed weapon so it's not totally worthless . And yes like others have said I use torag's pact it's the best choice IMO

Id like to see an actual melee magicka weapon with abilities scaling from spellpower and max magicka im tired of running dw just because its more spellpower than a staff

Exactly, thats why I like the idea of a mage guild skill that can apply magic to melee weapons.
