You semi to be missing the point. If you can so 12-14k you have the damage to do just about everything. In that gear, you can likely heal just fine. This is an issue of you doing something wrong in the situations you are failing.

I have 370 CP, and lacking that is not the end of the world. Played my DK for a week before I realized I never saved my CP after resetting it so all my points were doing nothing. Is CP going to make you stronger? Yes, will you do nothing without it? No.

HA...play a Nightblade for a few weeks and then go crawling back to your templar. I love NB, but it is far less noob friendly than Templar. And as we can see from this post, you need noob friendly.

Spam jabs, use BoL when you're low. If you can't kill anything with 12-14k DPS, it's more than likely something you yourself are doing wrong. My sorc struggles to reach 9k and can kill any trash mob. Trying to solo the wandering bosses too, but other players keep interrupting.

If you pull a group, kite in a circle, that will bunch up all the melee mobs nicely so your jabs hits them all. Charge-stun the ranged ones if you don't want to deal with the melee for a while.

If you're on NA Haderus, I can log on my vr4 templar and show you my setup while smashing things.

Just under 200 CP. Temp is running Seducer/Warlock.

I healed a V16 vet WGT last night and I have maybe 2 pcs of v16 gear. Its mostly V15 purple crafted gear with some hodge podge jewelry. This game is about skill and not as much gear. If you can't complete things and you blame gear, well just sorry for ya cause that's not helping you be a better player.

Your gear doesn't make you stand in fire, or choose the wrong skills, or make you not understand fights and their mechanics.

i can only use bol twice before going OOM, i'm a stampler.., even then it does almost nothing in PVP,

and it's embarrassing when rng decides to abandon me and i don't get ANY crits, because then well, it drops to like 8k

I agree with that last part. This game starts off as needing a natural high intelligence intuition. Play your way, but being able to craft makes you independently versatile in you can experiment with your build on the fly. Without the crafts you need to plug in the mic that comes with the consoles and ask.

Skill in the sense of knowing how to combo abilities and what works well with each other. Also knowing you can't stand in some AoEs as you stated

Ultimately you need to play your role until you have put the Time into all of the natural factors of taking a character beyond their dedicated roll. Like any RPG you have to grind to get there.

This is all you need to heal/dps V16 dungeons(Not Trials but still could I think)

I am running with 5 Seducer/5 Healer's Habit. The highest level gear that I have are V16 Restoration Staffs with gold Absorb magicka enchants. All my Healer gear is V13/V14. All of my Seducer gear is V15. So far I've done Vet Fungal Grotto and Crypt of Hearts at V16 levels and haven't had a problem healing through either one. The deaths usually come down to one shots from bosses for people with below 18k health. It happens, even in normal dungeons.

With all this, I was able to heal/dps to help out the group to complete these dungeons. If I can do it, you can as well. You don't need IC sets for these, IMO they aren't that great anyway.

You will need to get used to the difficulty of the Vet dungeons as they are now. They are harder and more challenging for sure, but no where near impossible to do.

Tanks have a much harder time than Healers/DPS after this patch.....

If you find yourself low on magicka, get some decent absorb magicka enchants and they will help alot! I can pretty much replenish my magicka of 26k with 4 heavy restoration attacks.

Well said. You get an insightful for this. 22k health should be standard so you can use your self heal or your set can earn its money. Getting to 22k is easily done with IC, not impossible without it.

So you're a stamina build Templar? Well, that right there is why you can't heal properly. You need to be a magicka build to be a healer, regardless of your class. I mean, I guess if you only plan on using Vigor for your healing maybe that could work... The other healing skills are all magicka-based.

You should still be able to tank or DPS fine without having to grind out IC gear though.

Man can I relate. I tried a DPS templar and not until vet 9 did I realize man I created a SUCK character. Rolled a High Elf Sorcerer and damn what a difference....the game got fun again.

You don't need the super expensive gear to really enjoy templars. I healed through VR16 Imperial Prison at VR10 no worries and my gear is a simple combination of 5 piece twice born star (Mage & Ritual) & 5 piece SoulShine - 5Heavy 2Light, and I only have 250 CPs, I know its more than your 80 but it doesn't take long to get to that many.

While you're learning the class just make sure the groups you're running with are making your life easy by staying close together, with healing springs and BoL you should be able to get through most group PVE content easy enough

Recently I'm mostly playing in IC as part of a three person group because we like playing together; a Vet 10 Nord stamina DK who mostly tanks, a Vet 16 Breton Templar who mostly DPS' but will heal when she feels we have earned it (what can I say - reachwoman - just don't cross her) and me, a dunmer magicka DK (read: fire mage) who just made 36th level last night (I was 16th when we started this hobby).

We mostly survive because we play smart and creatively and synergize with each other.

No one build/race/character can do it all - but hang with a fun group and you can enjoy the messes you stir up.
