People whined.
ZOS listened. No more restricted access to IC.
Guess what ? People whine.
As to the present "ambassador" suggestion : no, thank you. I don't want IC to become yet another CP grinding area and have it invaded by "PvP-immune" steel tornado spammers. And I don't see why else people would come there killing mobs if there are no TelVar stones and no trophies to collect.
While I'd prefer the original option of restricted access, I can say for doing it everyday that districts' daily quests are perfectly doable solo (and I suck at PvP, believe me). They're fun and exciting and they would be boring as hell and mind numbingly easy if there was no PvP risk involved.
.
The entire point of the Imperial City is risk and to gain and lose Tel Var stones.
Not if you have no interest in Tel Var Stones and only want to go to the city for the storyline. The entire point of the Imperial City is risk and to gain and lose Tel Var stones.
Can't disagree with that assessment. I think I managed to solo 3 of the 6 story quests on PTS (Elven Gardens, Arboretum, Memorial), but the other 3 are group-required (Nobles, Arena, Temple). Memorial is the worst for being affected by PvP, and the Sanctuary areas there are unavailable outside of the quest as well.anitajoneb17_ESO wrote: »The storyline is easy if you're grouped. Doesn't have to be a zerg, 3 people are enough.
ZOS was careful this time, storyline hubs are protected areas so that we can read and immerse into the story.
We still cannot enjoy the story, but it's NOT because of the PvP environment, it's because it's grouped.
Just like Craglorn or any group dungeon in the game, you have no access to story because it's group content and unless you're extremely lucky, you'll never ever get into a group where people care about the story and let you enjoy it and take the time. All they care about is jump from one quest objective to the next as quickly as possible.

I can see the cunning plan behind this...
Take up mark of the savoir, do district quest, return mark, turn in quest, get full TV stone box... all the rewards, none of the PvProblems...
Nice try.
I'd agree to this if the PvPers get a "mark of the outlaw" that allows them to attack all PvEers in PvE areas. And get rewards for those kills as well!
Fair's fair, after all.
And I'd hate this happening, so I'd hate an opt-out of imperial city PvP happening as well.
And I don't even like PvP!
If anything, I'd want a "flag of truce" that can only be equipped in your faction base, keeps someone unattackable by players and incapable of attacking at all, but dissapears if they get attacked by monsters - like a disguise. That -would- make more sense, and would not allow them to just milk the warzone for the rewards without any of the risks. Wouldn't be very useful, true... but it'd be fun running up to the enemy base with it and shout a message...
As for the PvE whining... I mean, come on, the next three DLCs will be PvE anyways... Orsinium solo region, Murkmire group region, and then there's also TG and DB, which will very likely be instanced solo stuff again...
For now, just let the PvPeople have their bone, without demanding they give you half of it. The next three will be all yours. And likely the DLC sceme will remain that... one DLC per 3 months, three PvE, one PvP... so the PvEers will end up getting more anyhow, and the pvPers will be the ones feeling left out in the big picture.
Tel Var Stones would not be part of the reward if the quest was done while in Ambassador Mode.TheShadowScout wrote: »Yeah, riiight.

Hey Vangy, I have rolled many a central set of the two rings of portals in the middle of IC with you and even when I get credit for every boss and Molag Balls Deeps Simulacrum I do not get 1000 TV from the middle section of those portals alone. What is your secret?
P.S. I agree with all other things (that I have not quoted) in your post.

You have the flag, the zone or District is open.
Also...an Alliance should be required to hold at least ONE Imperial Keep to enter.
The current gimme state is Absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous.
PvPer's provided PvE'ers with Emperor bonuses for over a year.
A little PvP to access PvE content should be part of the game.
And hurry with the Justice System.

Sure as long as I get my $$ back for IC. Or they can make v16 Mats available elsewhere. The whole reason I need to Zerg ic QQ is that I need to get my v16 mats to progress in PVE. So no. iC is not just a pvp zone so it shouldn't be tied to cyro keeps in anyway. If I can progress pve without stepping foot in ic then sure. Zeni can do whatever they want with ic and I couldn't care less because it doesn't affect me in any way. But as long as they force pvers to mindlessly grind mats in ic for God knows what reason (ic was supposed to be for pvpers no?), tying it to cyro is a bad idea.
When i want to PVP i actively do it in cyro or go to IC looking for fights. When i want to farm TV stones i dont appreciate encounters especially while taking on 3 mobs etc. I just love it when people say if u dont like PVP dont go to IC. Sorry friend, I WILL go to IC and join a zerg of 25 and steam roll mobs and any sorry pvpers caught out alone (ie not in a zerg too) from my base to centre and run back in ard 20 mins with 1500 stones. If u think u get nothing from a zerg u are DEAD wrong. So wrong. U can have 50 players smacking a portal and as long as u tag a single mob u get a nice fat chest with around 90-150 tv stones. Clear all the centre portals and molag bal simulacrum and u get a nice phat 1000 tv stones in a decent amount of time. So... yeah. IC belongs to PVE-ers till they are done farming their gear and then.. its gona be a ghost town. Sad truth.
