Find a clan and run around with them. You heard wrong that this DLC was soloable. It is not. Even the PvE enemies are too hard for solo ply. Find a clan and run with them and it will be fun.

Running with a guild certainly helps, but just remember, if you get into a group over 4, the loot is extremely watered down, and anything over 12 you're not even guaranteed loot. The content can be enjoyed by yourself, though there are instances of requiring a group. A few of the quest items to get to the dailies, you'll need a group. I soloed the Sublime Brazier just fine. Obviously you'll need a group for the 2 group dungeons though, and they are pretty tough on vet mode.

The one thing I've noticed with the DLC is it's not very fun after awhile. After the short quest lines, it's VERY grindy. It's all about the loot right now, and turning a big profit before the market is saturated. And the market is pretty saturated now. Items that were going for 100,000g are already down to 20,000g. The randomization of the vaults make the trophy grind something not worth it.

Don't get me wrong, it's fun for a little bit, and there are a lot of achievements to hunt. Some neat unique items to find coupled with some interesting loot make it repeatable, but it's a worse grind than Craglorn with less story.

So several people including on youtube have said imperial city is doable solo, that you can get your modifier up really high and do your dailys etc...

So i broke down and gave ZoS money for this dlc which after 6 hours i'm definitely regretting.

I do these dailies and most of them are near impossible alone,i play dc on ps4 EU so AD and EP have all the servers pretty much sown up,with dc only faction capped on azuras and scourge, but the kicker is even on those 2 where dc have a presence they are also fac capped by both AD and EP.This quest, defend the doors?Impossible, always EP or AD there, arena?Took hours of hiding before enough DC came by that i could gol in with.

I spent 2 hours running around the stupid sewers killing the mobs for pitiful loot, and only managed to get my modifier up to 3.something(oh,i also solo killed about 15 enemies too)Eventually i got killed twice which put me right back to x2 modifier,so there's an hour or two gone(nvm the couple k telvar stones i had)Not like i can bank them or it resets my effing modifier.

Oh also twice i helped kill molag bal and put out good damage but there was like 40 fricking people there so i didn't get in top 12 for loot from that.

I'm a NB and understand how to hide like a scared wee puppy from the big bad zergs etc,but it doesn't much matter,it's such close quarters i eventually bump into some enemy also in stealth and then 6 more appear and gank you.Half the people in there are also running detect pots and marks.

So yeah, after these 6 hours i'm sitting on x2 modifier with only 2 telvar bags to show for my trouble and about 700 in the bank.Absolutely frustrating,i'm actually seething with anger at this horrible dlc now.

How are you supposed to get that modifier up and get a decent amount of stones on your own if you can't do half of these dailies and don't have a zerg to hold your hand?Grinding isn't doing it at all.

*Went on a bit of a semi rant there but damnit it's like i fritted away 6 hours for absolutely nothing.

If you are playing early then run around with 1k+. If you play to rushhours then go with 100 Stones and return stones as soon as you have 500-1k.

Kept waiting to see the character get ganked by rolling zergs.

    Disappointed.

This is the end result of people demanding non gated access to the dlc. The imperial city was designed to have gated access so 1 faction had access at any given time. The reward for hard work in pvp. Only when access to the city changes hands would there be any real danger of finding significant numbers of an opposing alliance.

The devs stated they we're considering gating access on specific servers in the near future and this is what I am holding out for.

I am sorry you play for 6 hours and just expect to have mastered this new content? give it time there is learning curve especially solo playing. I don't understand why people got to dis something after such a short period of playing it. Guess cause we live in a instant gratification world. Keep playing, keep practicing and then play some more. Patients young one, you too will master it, time it takes, time!! :P LOL

True but still a much better situation than OP is in now. If he is a healer or an above average DPS he should get loot. It worked for me.

I solo IC mob groups on my VR4 NB, it's doable the only ones I have trouble with are the casters, and I could simply put sword and board and heal from their projectiles. There is a way and if your cleaver enough you will figure it out.

ESO plus was a good deal here. Got to try the DLC and still have 1500 crowns to use towards the next DLC which is SUPPOSE to be more solo and PVE friendly. I got nothing against PVP or PVE I'm mediocre at both but this DLC...it's way, way to grindy for my taste.

Dude, this is just a taste of what's coming in Orsinium. Get ready for an even bigger grind.

I posted a video showing how you can solo this content in this forum. It is definitely solo-able. You just have to play smart.

Grind is ok if I don't notice the grind. Take alliance points for example, somehow I have 300k alliance points and I'm bad at pvp. It's fun fighting zerg vs zerg siege war in Cyrodiil so I never noticed I was gaining points.

Somehow they're going to have to figure out how to have a grind but it don't feel like a grind. Don't ask me I'm not on the payroll but they should think about it.

I suspect the only people who can solo IC are the same ones who can kill a raid solo. IC is meant for loot farming and Zerg style PvP when it does change it will just become a ghost town and still impossible to do quests
I've primarily been playing solo in IC (occasionally in small groups, but mostly solo), and I've been doing the daily quests and such just fine. I can confirm that I absolutely cannot do group dungeons solo. I'm nowhere near good enough for that. At best I'm a slightly above average player. I'm definitely not a top player. But I find playing IC solo to be perfectly fine (albeit challenging, and you are going to get killed sometimes).

Op was there not any gankers hiding by the sewers ? You will be very happy when you can't get in because a hanker group has cow tropped the door and block your access. Really fun waiting 30 minutes for a group to take on griefer group doing 5v1 . Need npcs near the entrance

    You can split the difference,

While safer in a group (of at least two), as most are also going to be in a group of at least two, it is possible to do most of IC solo.

Roaming bosses, large mobs, some 'world' bosses, and zergs being the general exception.

When you are in there solo:
    • Expect to proceed much more cautiously. You're going to spend more of your time crouched or going the other way. Resign yourself to this and you'll be ok.
    • Group up without grouping up. You don't have to have your name on the roster to give and get help from fellow Alliance members that will usually be nearby. Help with kills, get stones. Help with heals, get stones. Help them not die and/or complete an objective, they'll usually return the favor.

It adds some interesting mechanics to the mix, given the environment, hostile NPC's/monsters, etc. Beyond that, if you wouldn't approach a group of 20 outside IC, then definitely steer clear of them inside IC.

Once you've completed the cheese wedges (upper zones) with the help of a handful of people (Temple, Arena, etc) the dailies can generally be done solo. They just require more time and care.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...
