Nah. I am far from a virtuoso (I consider myself a fairly casual player who has a decent grasp of the mechanics) and I regularly do well and feel a sense of achievement when playing this game. I even excel at times. Sounds like you just prefer dungeon romps to MMORPGs, which is fine. It's an entirely different genre that caters to entirely different tastes, after all.

D3 is pretty fun.

Everyone is always trying to compare ESO to other games. ESO is ESO and it always will be and we play it because it is ESO. If you don't like ESO for what it is there's the portal and don't let it hit you on the way out. Seriously, don't 'cause we don't need it stained when it just got waxed.

I'll take the title of the thread at face value, dismiss the OP's rant about another game which I enjoy - mainly as a casual fill-in from time to time due to its relative shallowness as a "hack'n slash" game rather than a conventional MMORPG - and agree with the title itself. I too thank ZOS for producing ESO which I enjoy very much as my main MMORPG "home" these days. I agree with the way Sinlar put it.

I am a Diablo fan and still play regularly. The wife and I are now in our 3rd season and still waiting for the Furnace to drop, yes the game was far from great when it first came out, I couldn't even get online for the first week, then all the lag, then the AH killed the game and economy, the new comer had a very hard time finding gear to commit to doing Torment difficulty, and yes the developers stated that the best gear can have a greater drop rate at the higher end of the Torment difficulty, but if you don't have the gear to compete, it's just a case of rinse repeat until your eyes bleed in hope that someday that legendary gear you been after finally drops and what happens then? They change the gear and build specs and add a whole new gear list while updating the difficulty to make it even harder.....

Yes the game is far greater now than it was but it's taken them a few years to get there but it's still has issues.

As for ESO, it's been out a year on PC and the pc gamers deserved some new content and after listening to the community, they wanted PVP content etc, it's only been out a few months on the consoles and already people are demanding new things and wanting the game changed.

I think this game is awesome, and I thank the developers for creating a game I can really get my moneys worth out of it instead of some of these new 5 hour games that have been released in the last few years.

I'd like to thank ZOS for making ESO and for realising that having Elder Scrolls in the title does not mean it will be a total Elder Scrolls experience. I liked the game I really did. I made it a point to finish the story due to the great quests and story. Doing it all over again? Not so good. RNG hates me so much that I had to give up on crafting.

I don't have money to throw at the crown store to enhance my experience of becoming a great and powerful mage in a shorter time via exp Scrolls or potions to extend my pixel life in often very tough battles. I don't have time for time consuming things like researching a trait or finding extremely rare drops to help fasten armour together or find armour sets which seem to not exist in my current experience. I refuse to grind or be forced into an area that involves me being killed, maimed and generally stomped on by more stronger and more powerful players, who dedicated their hard earned time into fine tuning their characters to be the best of the best. The players ask for things that desperately need to be fixed but you seem to cater for the few players who like to see the Nerf hammer being swung around like my half blind uncle swatting at a fly with a baseball bat.

Yes,I'm not happy and so have gone on to playing games that are exactly what I paid for. No dangling of carrots from sticks and no ninja nerfs and most of all...DLCs that are actually extensions of the games with a new plot and no need for grinding for armour or a gall stone from a mutant guppy with six eyes that can only be slain in the ides of September. Okay, I made that last one up but you get the idea.

Sorry ZOS but enough is enough. You had the chance to change things around, improve stuff that needs it and of course fix those bugs. My God! Those bugs!
Instead, I shall step away from the game and wait patiently for Ark, DOOM and Elder Scrolls VI while you folk find a way to fix those [expletive deleted] loading issues and bugs that kick the crap out of gameplay. Then and only then will I consider to return. I shall look at the patch notes here for any sort of improvement of those issues here from time to time in a vain hope of actually being able to enjoy this game once more.

Now my rant is over, I shall bugger off and play a game that rewards me with satisfaction of progression rather than it being a chore doing the same stuff over and over again.

Wrong armour type and/or trait? Keep doing dailies for weeks or months until you get the right combination.

Collecting Tel Var stones in Imperial City for the Black Rose set.
Get 8000 stones to buy an armour box because buying the pieces directly costs 10000 and only have one trait to choose from
RNG on boxes to get the right armour piece
RNG to get the right trait

Last 3 boxes, thats 21000 tel var stones, I have opened have all been boots.
The feeling this gives me is the same as hitting my face into a brick wall: Zero progress. Frustration.

How about giving players the option to CHOOSE what armour type and trait we get on these items, if not then at least massively increase the drop rates so even if we get the wrong traits we wont have to do dozens more runs to get another wrong trait dropping.
FYI ZOS, I'm at 57 spindleclutch runs so far without a single helm dropping. Can some of you try doing it that many times and see how much fun it is?


A suggestion: Keep the drops rates low but replace all helm drops with a "Monster Token" that you can trade in for a helmet with the armour type and trait of your choice.
Or replace the drops with "Undaunted Trophy", same as in Imperial City. Each daily gives you 1-10 trophies, once you have 60 you can trade them in for a helmet with armour type and trait of your choice.
