High Elf Dragon Knight? How to make this work? Insight appreciated so much

I am level 10 as a high elf dragon knight, using a destructive fire staff and wearing heavy armor for the most part, as that is all I came across so far. I donʻt want to be a tank this time, at least not while soloing in pve till lvl 50. I have stopped playing as a tank with my vr1 imperial dragon knight. I realized I enjoy playing the Dragon Knight the most, however I will be magicka based for the first time. What type of armor should I be wearing while leveling? I plan on using staffs, destruction and perhaps a two handed weapon or another restoration staff on a second bar later at level 15. Any suggestions on What armor would benefit me the most, boons, enchants etc would be soo helpful. Im starting to wonder if I made some odd and off decisions that may lead nowhere since Iʻve been told dragon knights are for tanking. Also where would I put all my attribute points? It was a no brainer with the imperial but High Elf Im already invested in magic. Any suggestions would help.
Thank you

    Quick thoughts:

Armor: As a High Elf DK, I'd go for a magicka based build personally. You can make Stamina work too, but I like to build on a races strengths. So, for example, having a larger base magicka pool so that the 10% bonus from High Elf adds even more to the total. If you choose to go Magicka based then you want to get into some pieces of Light Armor asap. Worst case you can craft it yourself, but it should be possible to find some as drops or have a more experienced crafter churn some out for you.

Attribute Points: They're not terribly critical at low levels, but I'd go all in on Magicka. By focusing on Magicka your class powers and Destro Staff skills will do the most possible damage, and you'll be able to use them more times before you run out of juice.

    Tank Only: Nope.

Weapons: Destro and Resto staves work nicely for a Magicka based character. Be careful with the Stamina based weapons though (all the melee and bow). There are reasons to use them but its for specific powers and effects (for example the Twin Blade and Blunt passive on Dual Wield that increases spell damage, or 1h/Shield's missile reflect power).
