...what hud add-on are you using? It appears your stat bars are not at full opacity. Also wondering if there's an option to have them show only in combat WITH a food buff active?

[EDIT] PS - Depending on the character. I play in first person too. One character ONLY in first person, and only new quest markers shown, once I take it.. no more markers ;) Although for group content 3rd person is far more preferable I find.

High resolution is immersion-breaking. Gotta stick with the "stunning" and "jaw-dropping" graphics of Arena.

Try using ESO Launcher (dramatically increases view distance and removes that ugly fog) and sweetFX (effect depends on settings and flavour, but it DOES sharpen your image a LOT).
    Like day and night.
Completely forgot how mushy and dated the game looks "out of the box"...

On a more serious note. The following are still issues in 1st person view:

Expert hunter buff fills 1/2 the screen with its particle effect, depending on the weapon.
Various self debuffs, buffs and procs are impossible to see (esp with multiple effects active at once)
Red circles and boss actions are still very difficult to see at the same time.
No peripheral vision means situational awareness is low, esp for sideways dodge rolls or rearwards movement.

Having a flaming sword is a real problem, but the others are part and parcel of playing in first person.

It's hard mode precisely because you don't get to see red circles, boss actions, buffs and debuffs. And of course your vision is limited and you can't see behind you!

Yes, this does make the game much harder - particularly in PvP when you have less control over what's going on behind you - but first person means that you are in a fight, instead of merely controlling a puppet.

And the "Magelight off" option doesn't work for me with its morph.

I hate magelight in first person. I feel like my FOV is outside of the light!
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

I've seen some horribly gaudy sweetfx profiles too.

have you tried increasing the FOV to the max settings? This helps out a lot in 1st person and 3rd person view.

I always prefer 1st person mode. maybe reason never liked Diablo and the ilk.
In 3-d mode w/ Gforce glasses it's cool, but ya spend to much time looking at stuff......
You can do 3-D in birdeye view, but ya loose a lot of immersion.

The argument I anticipate is defining 'resolution' for the poor bloke.

Oh? I didn't know that was an option. When I looked at the menu settings it seemed like you could only either toggle them all on, or toggle them all off. I never saw a 'toggle new quest markers only' option.

@MissBizz can you tell me how you activate that? I'd love to start playing it Morrowind style.

I played all previous ES games in first person, and hated 3rd when I accidentally switched to it.

But this game's vet group content and PVP is essentially impossible in first person. You don't have a choice, you have to be not only third person but pretty much max-zoomed-out as well. e.g. the giant red circle against the Spider Daedra in vCOH (Rzzazzizzazzizzhzzahhzz or whatever her name is). Only way not to annoy your group-mates and get one-shot by that is to be in max-zoomed out third person.

I hated it but I hated disappointing team-mates more, so I adjusted in a couple hours of gameplay. Probably won't ever play future ES games in first person now that I've adjusted.
