    When people say this boss is impossible...my mind just goes "Wow.... you guys just cant adjust or admit that u need to get better" so ill leave you with this.

    What do you think about tanks role in this fight?

    Let's hypothetically say that if I personally get better at the DPS role, then the fight will be easier for myself and party. That is pretty reasonable, but such adapting ignores whether or not tanks should have to get better at the DPS role. Yes, practically tanks should get better at the DPS role if they want to beat the Planar Inhibitor, but if they should be faced with such content in the first place is the real question.

    I don't have the year experience as a DPS that DPS players have and, as much as that is my choice, it was no tanks choice to introduce a fight into the game where tanking isn't valuable. That is why we are discussing this fight.

    Every class can simply put light or medium on. Bow or Staff and one shot portals. im not lying when i say this tanks are not suppost have high dps but they can still 1 shot portals. Thats it... like thats all they need to do.
    ALSO... reason i put up the vid and people who have done it by now will all agree that it doesnt need a nerf its just a mechanic i will be really really really really upset if u can burn this boss n not worry about mechanics, as iv been in groups where we got 1 blue fire phase. so nerfing it would be just sad... we need hard content.

    I do not get why you guys are refusing to adapt to the change learn the mechanic and better yourselves as a player. This is a dungeon, a DUNGEON, there's no leaderboard competition it's content to make you a better player. Stop trying to call for nerfs just play the game not everything should be the normal mechanic otherwise this happens, you have no idea what to do.

    2 ways to deal with this boss, burn it and the portals or have tank deal with the adds

    Fyi try chain pulling yourself to the portals and using pierce on it

    The only way I personally found to one shot portals was to use 2500 spell damage with a destruction staff. That is a heavy investment into DPS and totally detached from the tanking role.

    Additionally, the portals aren't the only problematic issue. If I'm not mistaken, at one point you had problems with the mechanic in which a player has to press a button, sheathe their weapon, stand still, and hope not to get an AOE under them (or portals) in order to gain boss aggro. Tanks are used to aggro free mechanics, but this button press mechanic makes tanks unnecessary for the fight. Imagine how frustrated you have been with the orb. That is good if you have gotten better and no longer have those frustrations, but imagine tanks frustrations with the fact that a mechanic discourages them from having aggro. No amount of getting better will even change the orb aggro mechanic and make tanking the fight a viable strategy.

    I don't mind insinuations that the only reason people are having a hard time with the fight is because they are bad. That's fine. I'm bad. I'm okay with that. What I do mind though is that tanks are being told to get better in lieu of players understanding how bad this fight is for the tank role. It doesn't mechanically make sense to tank and it would be a shame if the design for this fight inspired more fights in the future.

    I never said this fight is impossible @nordickittyhawk .

    With four good DPS this fight is rather easy. However a tank is the equivalent of Ephialtes in this fight. Just stay back and take care of the wounded and let the real men fight Ephialtes!
