Magicka Templar - best weapon?

I run 2 bars: a dedicated healer build and a magicka DPS (Punctured Sweep, Jesus Beam, etc) build. Naturally, I use a Resto Staff for my dedicated healer bar. I was wondering what the best choice of weapon for my DPS bar would be, especially in a 1v1 scenario (since I'm usually healing in a group setting).

I've noticed that some Templars use a sword and shield (more damage mitigation?) while others use dual wield (DPS?)

What I am going to do on my PvP oriented healer is use 1HS on my healing bar and DW on my damage bar. Except for combat prayer, I don't really miss any resto staff spells and we will use a sorc with resto off bar to keep up combat prayer.

I also have a toon that is a healer with resto staff. For my solo adventures, though, he uses a nice 2h maul cuz it just looks badass!

You'll destroy nearly everyone.

I use a flame staff, but only for looks and to build my ultimate. The templar skill sets are some of the strongest in the game.

DW or S&B. I run DW and I can run around IC quite happily
