As the title states, its BS the PC players got to transfer characters. I mean, wtf? How is that fair in any way? They've been playing and leveling for an entire year, then come to console and smash everybody. Not cool guys....not cool. Can somebody please explain how they justified doing this? I know I sound like a low level b@#$% but these guys have so many cp its not funny. Why ESO God!?...WHY!?...WWWWHHHYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!??????

Ur thoughts?=)

My thoughts are that the amount of people complaining here about Champion Points in this game is now hurting my brain.

You said yourself they have a year's worth of play over you. Why should you be as powerful as those who have put in a year of gameplay?

    It's simple.
Console was promised over a year ago. ZOS needed either the money or to keep these potential console users happy. They made a deal: buy the PC game now, and WHEN we (figure out) release the console version we'll transfer you to it.

+1 they should not have allowed transfers.

But at the same time I think it's good that they did because if I was a PC player I would want to escape from the "We were here first , we need addons, we are the master race" mentality.

Console gaming is harder, no add ons, no chat, no macros, so it's nice to see some PC players get off the easy train. ;)

I'm not saying I want to be as powerful as the "PC Gods", I'm saying that the PC Gods should have stayed on PC. Therefore leveling the playing field for the console players.

If you're a pc transfer just don't think you're better because of skill. You had an entire year to learn game mechanics, farm gear and cp, learn strategy, learn exploits farm gold so there is no level playing field and obviously pc transfers came here because they couldn't cut it on PC. That being said eventually I will surpass you

That's easy. Because some PC players bought the game in lieu of a console version. The console version was originally meant to come at the same time as the PC version, and it was delayed by over a year. So they bought the PC version instead.

Zenimax gave people 30 days to transfer if they wanted. You should have seen the forums with the amount of people that missed the deal. You could have had a LOT more coming over.

    This is the only reason:
Because many of these players who transfered, wanted to play ESO on PS4 or Xbox from the very begining. Some had even pre-bought the game thinking they would be starting out on console. Then things got delayed/screwed up/etc on the console end and ESO couldn't launch on consoles with PC launch. To keep people from revolting, players who wanted to play on console were allowed to play on PC, sign up to transfer thier account to console whenever that would happen. Unfortunitly ESO was delayed on console for over a year. Zenimax had a choice, screw the people they promised they could transfer their accounts, or screw the new people just starting out. It's a no win situtation really, but at least they kept their word on this to older players.

I appreciate the comments here, I really do, but here's two things I have to say on the matter:

    1. There's plenty of threads on this topic already, and I mean plenty. The search bar can help you guys to find them and avoid duplicate threads :)
    2. We all had plenty of notice... I chose not to get the game on PC and transfer, now I absolutely regret that decision but, at the end of the day, it was my choice so I shall sleep in the bed that I made myself.

    It is what it is.

    Simple matter of money.

It sucks getting fun over by someone who has been playing the game for a year. But thats always going to happen. Right now you have 3 months headstart over someone who has just started and at christmas you will be significantly better than someone just getting it as a present.

How many CP do you think the average PC player transferred with?

My main issue with PC transfers isn't the CP its the gear and money they brought with them.

I started playing on console release and currently have 227 CP, I've managed 1 vet dungeon in that time. The terrible group finder and lack of text chat makes it nearly impossible for me to find groups to get gold keys and vet dungeon .

Yet in Cyrodiil there I am constantly seeing people running arround in Engine Guardian and Valkyn Skoria sets. I always assume they are PC ports. How many people on console have managed to get the vet 12/14 versions of these sets?

It's not fair from a playability view, but it was certainly business wise.

Developing a game is costing a lot of money. And lot of games are financial spoken a disaster.

The 'We transfer your character'-policy probably convinced many PC players to buy the console version. And that money is needed hard. I'm pretty sure they have some hotshot managers who did their calculations before installing this service.

I don't care that former PC players are more powerful. I play the game like I want at my own pace. I'll catch them up later and will destroy them. All of them. lol

Doesn't bother me. Its unlikely PC transfer plays on console continuously and not on PC any more, when their guildies are also on PC.

I expect they are few that play a bit of console now and again, but i doubt enough of them such that ill see them more than once in a while. My only fear would be a slight increase in PC transfers playing console to get some easy Stones in IC. otherwise i think they probably dont effect me.

I must be one of those "guys" that hate incorrect information.
PC transfers only had 3 months to earn CPs between the CS release in March 2015 and console release in June 2015.
I had slightly more than 100 CP when I transferred.

    But who needs facts.

I didn't enjoy them taking my money and then having to wait a whole year for the game either.
When they made the offer I don't think they planned on it taking that long, and CP wasn't even in the picture.
But I can understand the frustration as I have seen how some of the V14 transfers grouped up and took advantage.
    Others helped out though.

Original concept made sense at the time. Buy PC version and transfer to console in 2-3 months when that version is released. It all fell apart when console release was delayed by a year. Between that year and many of the changes to the game is started to make less and less sense.

Add to the fact that they allowed some terrible exploits like players borrowing millions of gold from guilds before the transfer and they paying it back allowing serious gold advantage. Add levels, PvP ranks, gear and some CP advantages and it was all to much.

Once the delay was a year they needed to honor their original transfer promise but really should have added some limitations. I feel sorry for the console players, especially the PvP oriented players

Funny story, ESO was released in April-ish of 2014. I had a year worth of XP when my character transferred in June of 2015. I had quite a bit more than 100 CP. I started with 70 when they introduced the champion system and it was fairly easy to earn more. I'm not sure what this has to do with the disvussion though.
