Could i get a few clarifications on DLC matter?

Slater_Reed
Hi, i have been looking trough the info about the dlc, but the thing is that since i already bought The Last of Us just a few days ago, iam not really planning on spending money on IC just yet, so i guess my question is how limited will i be within the game as a non dlc owner? I merely ask this because i recall being quite limited in terms of all activities within Destiny when i decided not to buy any of the dlc there, i know its not a perfect comparison, so let me use another game more within the genre, for instance WoW, i recall inevitably ending up buying the expansions, since i felt my endgame was affected and i would fall behind within my guild at the time, since all of the new content was vital for the game progression. Will it feel the same here with IC? What will i have acess to having not bought the dlc? Thank you.
I love when i get to download 15gb of worthless data just to get the 500mb patch, its just like waiting for the whole cake to be done when all you want is just the little cherry on the top, hmm Yumi!

Depends the IC is for v15/16 gear so if your not that level yet then you'll not miss much, apart from a few quests, 2 dungeons and the close pvp in there.
    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

The only things you can't do are enter the imperial city and it's dungeons. You should be able to learn the Xivkyn crafting style if you want as you can buy the pages/book from guild stores. Getting the Charcoal for the style will be more expensive as you won't be able to get Tel var stones to buy them with. That's basically it. IC is a great addition to the game but severely limited IMO. Once you've done everything in IC, unless you like closed quarter combat and getting rolled by zerg groups who do nothing but spam caltrops everywhere you wont have any reason to go back....unless it's to craft one of the new sets or get into a trophy vault. IC was/is a blast to play at times, but after 2 weeks it's starting to lose it's luster.

IC isn't meant to be a DLC that changes the entire game.
It's contained within a few areas.

You'll not have access to those areas, but otherwise your experience won't change except for the addition of VR15 & VR16, and new mats that may be a little difficult to get until Orsinium comes out in a few months.

Not really. A member of one of the guilds I'm in has been doing the existing dungeons on V15 and V16 and getting the new materials there. Maybe not as much, but they are still accessible. You'll gather quite a few anyway rerunning the dungeon to replace your lower level helms/shoulders anyway.....

That's why I said a 'little' difficult. We're on the same page.

You won't be able to do one of the pledges on the days the IC dungeons are the pledge (but you may do the other level, both dungeons don't show up on the same day).

You won't get the BoP sets from IC dungeons.

You won't get the Skyshards from IC or the skill points from completing the new dungeons

Everything else, you can get buy buying it from other players, farming v16 dungeons for mats (the undaunted chests also give the V15 items, so you can get mats that way too).

I don't think there's any harm in waiting a bit.
