so with the new patch i see magic class builds rolling around with swords and daggers? so the destruction staff abilities are rendered useless now and as a magicka sorcerer im supposed to switch to swords to cast spells?

I did get that one and although the unresistible damage was attractive I found it to be weak as heck. I used one primarily until I got Healing Ward levelled up, then I switched back to dual swords. If you're not able to craft your own, The Crozier of St. Pelin would be a nice resto staff if it had a better trait, but it does do unresistable damage so could be worth checking out.
